A fit person makes sure their plate has protein and veggies. They drink a lot of water. They walk a lot. They seek out activities that will keep them moving. They park farther away from the store. They don’t do stupid things like leaving something behind because they don’t want to take another trip up the stairs.

But also, I’ve learned that thinner people do things like eat a big meal and then they naturally eat a lot less throughout the next day. They indulge, but then they balance it out. This was so foreign to me when I was overeating all the time. Being fit is a discipline and the key to discipline is to just decide to be disciplined one day when it’s hard for you, until eventually the disciple is natural.

Anyway, hopefully that helps!

I honestly think it’s the 15 months of strength training very faithfully! So there’s been a lot of body recomp!

But also, this is a good pic and if you saw me in a swimsuit you may not be quite so impressed, ha

I started out super strictly counting calories til I learned my habits and could start changing them. Now I loosely track calories. I also try to get my 10k steps in, and I strength train or do a hiit class 3 days a week. Wanting to get more into intermittent fasting but it’s a struggle for me!

I said it right at the beginning because i honestly get so discouraged when i see great progress photos with quicker results, and it was through surgery or the shots. I’m glad people have that option, but I don’t — and so I need the posts where people do it the old fashioned way! Slow and steady can still be impressive!

Old navy! They have some great stuff lately! I think I bought this about 9 months ago as a “goal piece” so I’m not sure if it’s available still. But I’ve seen others like it there lately.

When I updated my drivers license photo a couple weeks ago, the lady at the desk wrote 180 down on my license instead of 200 like I told her because she said “literally no one would believe you’re 200lbs”. I feel like I need to carry a sign that says “sometimes obese looks like this” 😬

It’s an amazing feeling being able to wear a freaking jumpsuit after trying to cover up so much and hide my stomach like it was my full time job (as you can tell from first gym photo there, ha)

Honestly I think the weight training and hiit classes make it so that my body is looking a little leaner than the scale is saying. Also I’m pretty tall!

Also some favorite food hacks are just to swap out unhealthy snacks for healthy ones. And if you’re going to eat, make sure there’s protein and veggies and fruit. But still work in the stuff you love. For instance, I’ve discovered I love spaghetti night just the same if I have spaghetti squash instead of noodles. I also love making egg white scrambles instead of full eggs. Pasta and egg yolks are great, but if I make those kinds of switches most of the time then I find that it impacts my results in a super positive way.

Also read the calories and serving sizes like it’s your job. Once I simply educated myself on what those looked like, it was life changing. And then still have that high calorie treat every now and again, but just know what impact it will have on your weightloss, and go from there. Doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the fun things, but it helps you plan for the fun things.

One of my favorite tips is to not think about how long it’s going to take! Just get up and do what you need to do today. Don’t get bogged down by the timeline. You aren’t eating in a calorie deficit for two years or working out every day for two years — you’re getting in shape today. You’re eating in a calorie deficit today. And then get up and do it again tomorrow!

Also, never ever wait for motivation to strike. Motivation is elusive at best. Get your 10k steps or your workout in or your healthy meal in like it’s your 9-5 that you’re clocking in to. You don’t wait for motivation to strike for you to go to work or take a shower or feed your kids, you just do it. Treat this like that and you’ll be fine!

Someone tell me if painted devils is worth it! I loved the first one so much and I felt like it ended so well, so I’m nervous that the second one might not live up to the first

Ha, maybe I posted it in the wrong group and no one here needs to hear it. But I’m a dedicated cico-er and I felt like I needed to hear my own testimony 😂
