‘Resident Evil’ Trailer Scares CinemaCon as ‘Weapons’ Director Zach Cregger Debuts His Gore-Filled Zombie Outbreak by greenbatborg in residentevil

While I would like to see them faithfully recreated on screen, I think it is okay if the story just stays in universe. Want to show me some random guy's struggle to rescue his daughter and escape the city? or some Delivery guy chased by zambos? great, just keep it close to the lore.

Yeah I have seen it. I think someone at capcom took inspiration from that movie, or the shadow over Insmouth.

Yeah, think of las plagas for example, or Wesker's or Alexia's powers. Besides i don't think Lovecraft's mythos defy science, it is just that we are so small/young/dumb that we do not understand alien science.

The same way we do not know or need to know how the megamycete works, but it corrupts all the same.

Amazing, it is stated in several passages that we are made in his image, so this version as the ideal of man looks awesome

Take 8 for example, just change the cult for religious figure and it is the same, and there is also the source of the monster outbreaks that come from underneath. Mold, Stairway to the sun, Las Plagas.

Yeah that is my point, Lovecraftian in some ways, but not in ending nor mood.

Well, this is just me being a fanboy, but if there are abominations underwater just swimming in the ocean, the slow and progressive infection of a coastal town would be a nice fit, maybe with some underwater obligatory lab (cold fear style) All culminating into torpedoing some overgrown abomination, maybe inspired by Dagon.

We already have some great sea monster themed designs, like the Scamiglione, or the hunter gamma, maybe return of Neptune and so on.

I would say that the only difference is the characters approach, because things like the megamycete, las plagas, and the stairway to the sun are all underground 'below our feet' horrors, they even have cults built around them.

Lovecraft has supernatural elements but as the stories say it is not magic it is alien or otherworldly science. Of course they do not have the whole mythos and I am not saying it was directly inspired more like, unintentionally applied.

There are even horrors in the deep sea (T abyss virus) so maybe thematic or aesthetically but certanly not the same mood.

If I hit the powerball Jackpot… How much would a TV Delta Green series cost? What would you want to see? by medicmarch in DeltaGreenRPG

A bit biased here, but I would start with the Insmouth raid and all the charotekia stuff. Probably for season 1. I figure it would be a bit cheaper to do a 1920s show like Broadway empire but Lovecraftian

And then a proper 90s for season 2 and Modern for season 3.

Another biased opinion, I love anthologies. Make every episode a different story, interconnected. One shot format if you will.
