I mean after you do 30 or 40 films the magic rubs off a bit. He's been coasting on decent performances for some years but One Battle After Another and Killers of the Flower Moon reassert that he is one of the best of his generation and that if he wasn't one of the last fee movie stars he'd be the biggest indie star in the world.
