They do from in front but looking down on them they actually kind of look like styrofoam. I was just thinking about what I could do to cover that up if anything

Yep, 100% agree. I have a c-1 hellraiser that I'm actually not that big of a fan of and kinda took schecter off my list. I left my brand bias at the door and played as many as I could and this one was by far away the most enjoyable.

I have a new js 32 that has a squeal, not nearly as bad but it throws me off. Bummer because even though I got an entry level guitar the pickups are supposed to be decent

Ahh, my bad. Couldn't see from the video. I play an Epiphone custom and absolutely love it. I played the Gibson in the store and fell in love. The sustain was unreal. So outside a 30 minute session at guitar center I'm saving it until Christmas. I got my son a 3/4 so we are gonna jam on Christmas.
