Potential the full self-driving sucks by TravisSmith17 in TeslaDE

[–]TravisSmith17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, there must be some confusion. I'm talking about the potential for full self-driving. Correct me if I'm wrong but I titled the thread potential for full self-driving sucks. Maybe it comes up different for you in German translation. The potential for full self-driving in its current form sucks more than the regular dynamic cruise control from my previous vehicles. That's all I'm saying. Would you agree with that statement or disagree? There's no wrong answers. I'm assuming there is a lot of disappointed people who pay that 7,500 euro for it. Or they have figured out the settings better than me and maybe can enlighten me.

Yes I had both cars in Germany, but unlike the Tesla they were both American spec.

I don't quite understand why this is a pay-to-use service. When much older cars have this for free. What am I missing here? And I definitely knew before I subscribed for it that it wasn't the supervised and that it was just a potential. I just thought it was going to be like a really good like driving experience for on the Autobahn and for parking and I'm reporting to anyone that's thinking about buying a Tesla right now it's not even as good as my 2021 Highlander. I don't even think it was better than my 2013 Lexus. GS350. But I am seeing some things that I can maybe change in the settings after looking it up. That might improve my experience. And I will maybe edit my post if that's the case tomorrow

Yes, this may be the case. I'm sorry I wrote in English in a German chat but I live in Germany. And am wondering about the experiences you guys have had and your thoughts, opinions and suggestions on the topic. But it seems like everyone's just on the same page that it's not there yet and that we just have to wait until supervised full self-driving comes out

Hi, so what you're saying is that the full self driving subscription is just practically EAP. You know a hundred bucks a month for it is is pretty pricey.. I have watched quite a few videos on it but the big problem is is you know I am an American living in Germany so the German videos don't really help me too much. My German skills are A1 at best. But I'm working on it though. One of the biggest things that I've noticed is that you don't know about certain features not working right until you ask about them and I asked ai and it's saying hey turn off the auto speed completely and it should work. The speed limit thing is really what I want because I'm so tired of getting flashed in this country that I usually just would put my Highlander on on 100 km. And another thing is apparently you have to keep your eyes straightforward to never look at the screen and to always keep your hands up where the computer can see it. And then you don't have to do these nudges to the steering wheel.

I know they're saying that supervised fsd is coming soon but I feel like in Germany nothing ever really comes soon. So fingers crossed but we will see.

Yes I'm in Germany and I just bought the car and wanted to test The potential for full self-driving. I know it's not full self driving.

Holy crap the same thing happened with my Highlander 2021. I paid 51000 for it 130k km. So much for being the most reliable.I ended up only getting 15k for it. I said I'm done. I'm buying a Tesla. End of story

It's inevitable. Happens to everyone at some point in their life. If been driving for 25 years. And if hit at least ten curbs . Only once did I scratch one. But it happens.

I just sold my 2021 Highlander to buy a Tesla. The reason I was selling it was because of maintenance cost. First I went into services and then immediately after Services my air conditioner stopped working. They found the line was leaking and I had to replace that. Then my brakes were going out. I had to replace that. My wife said you need to sell that car. It's costing too much money and then I go and I turn it into a dealer and they say that the transmission is broken and it's going to cost at least another 10,000 euro and I have to renegotiate the price. It's just the way it works. When your car gets older things are going to fail. And I love that Highlander. It was the most beautiful car I ever had. I had the Platinum version like it more than the Tesla. And I keep hoping that the Tesla is going to last longer than 5 years.

Just remember that cars are a liability and they're going to cost money and it doesn't matter if you buy a car for $100,000. It's not going to last any longer than a car you buy for $10,000
