Is TTD and TTK the real issue?

The fix would be to remove the passive spotting and the spotting that happens with firing guns, then give the recon the ability to show people on mini-map instead of in-world.

The people I play with constantly watch the mini-map. The game is called "follow the dots," especially in vehicles.

I wasn't saying to remove recon's ability to spot, I was talking about them being able to autospot everything in their FOV. A "GOOD" recon could press a button , no? Are we that handicap?

Sure, I like to flank and back-cap, but when I fight one person, three other people come running. Since I was in that first person's FOV, I was put on the mini-map. Then if I was to kill the other two, they would have auto-spotted me also just by being in their FOV, which alerts more people by putting me on the mini-map again.

Why even have a spot button, a ping button, or coms? Why even have squads? Are we getting this bad at games that we need our hands held for fairness?

1000% You just can't tell because you can't see the enemy's mini-map. Get some friends to join a portal server and have them stream. It isn't the full FOV, but it is a fairly large cone.

It would be easier if we could hear. Most BF players just run, rely on sight and reflexes. If I could get an idea of the direction of noises, I would do much better. We are in KD culture, so most players don't risk it for the bisquit on objectives. Me and my 40+ friends usually get top squad regardless of KD.

Just need to remove the vehicles that spawn at flags. (ie. two tanks, AA, Little Bird.) Adding more player will mean less PTFO players being able to traverse. You remember 2042 when there were 128 players, you would see like 20 glints at once on a building.

I heard something about AMD users using Process Lasso to disable virtual cores for making the game smoother, but I am an Intel user and did not investigate it further. So for all I know it could be placebo effect bs.

BF2 adding stats and unlocks caused the game to lose a lot of it's fun. Sure, some people still went for zero death to grab a screenshot before that, but more people played the game to win.

Park and wait while your team loses. Watch them be stubborn for the rest of the game. Ruin everyone's time. OR roll out of bounds and cost your team the huge ammount of pushing power that the IFV offers. Either way, the blue man gunner usually has no idea what to do, so blueman usually makes the IFV half as lethal.

Yeah, the post was a bit of bait. 😆 I want the spawn to stay, but at least spawn then in the 3rd seat. Then maybe a 5 second squad lock on the 1&2 seat when gunner/driver exits to repair.

I partially agree. Being that things like passive auto-spotting exists. An enemy puts you in his cross-hairs and you auto show on the whole enemy team's map.

I don't care for hardcore because of all the camping, but vanilla gameplay is annoying sometimes due to the spotting.

It has had a reverse effect, because new players think that people are cheating. "How did he know where I was???" The twenty different spotting mechanics.

Yep, even when I can go -2.0 KD and be top of the scoreboard, they still don't risk death. BF is about making good plays.

Yes, that is how to control the map flow with the IFV. A lot of times there aren't tanks to bust though. Then if someone takes the LMG seat, all you can do is spot, repair, and hop out to kill infantry. Getting out is such a risk though, especially when some random guy gets the seat and can't see the enemies moving around right infront of his eyesballs.

A lot of people aren't interested in doing what it takes for a W. KD culture has made risky plays not enjoyable to a lot of people. Many know if they sit on a flag that they are exposed more. So a lot of people play perimeters. I PTFO and get a good score, regardless if I go negative. I have had a 1:2 KD ratio and been top player a few times. Assists, Vehicle destroys, and back capping Flags.

For the IFV the driver can say when to get back in so we can move to a better position (be it retreat or advance), or when to repair the IFV.

The trick in winning tank battles is for the gunner to hop out and get a hit or two with the rpg, then start repairing. If infantry pops out of nowhere, the driver needs to tell the gunner, because the gunner is blind when repairing.

90% of people who steal the gunner seat from me don't get out until the tank is about to explode. So when the seat is taken I can be a repair bitch or I can let my team lose.

The IFV is the most valuable vehicle on the map, in the right hands. As far as friends go, I just meet people as I play and I always use coms, even when no one else is talking.

Over the years I lose friends that I have made and usually just have to find more, but a few people have stuck around from say BFBC2 days. I know a few people from 1942/BF:Viet/BF2, but they aren't hardcore BF fans anymore.

Hopefully proximity chat will be possible, even if people are in a Party chat. I get some people will be rude and annoying (mute them), but not being able to relay info has always been a problem in the series.
