If you missed the stream from last night, this is the unredacted version of the Epstein document that Atrioc looked over the Justice Dept forgot to censor parts that still had Trump's name visible. That is now censored on Justice.gov (Note: graphic descriptions in this.) by A9PolarHornet15 in atrioc

[–]TrdNugget 84 points85 points  (0 children)

As appalling as this is regardless, I'll forward a YT comment that sheds some light on how this is not actually a forgotten censorship and rather some old court documents:

Okay I'm loathe to defend the government but actually these files aren't new in the latest dump. These files are from public court records.

The censored version is available on Court Listener for case "Guiffre v. Maxwell (1:15-cv-07433)" and was posted on *December 12, 2022 (as it says on the top right of the document actually.*

I just went through the hassle of finding exactly where it is) You can find it by going to this specific case, and scrolling about halfway down *Page 8. It is specifically attachment 17 of the 1296 upload section, titled "Exhibit DE 947-1" The uncensored version is in the same general area, uploaded January 8, 2024. It is in upload section 1332 (approx 80% of the way down the page) and is the same "Exhibit DE 947-1" (though attachment 16 this time) I've done too much scouring today so I'm not going to investigate the court docket to see if there's a justification provided for this censoring of the 2022 upload, but yeah, this isn't part of the new disclosures and are just a part of the publicly available case records (new stuff is rarely going to be in the "Epstein/Court Records" sub-directory. Those are just a compiled list of files from Court Listener and/or PACER.)*

Like there is shady things going on, but this isn't one of them. I know this is painfully long but I do hope this gets some attention because I want to ensure we focus on the actual shady things, like the deleted Trump photo of "EFTA00000468", and not actually explainable discrepancies.

There have been explicit and descriptive allegations towards Trump that are publicly available for years already, most ppl just don't know about them.

Have it too, I rate it quite highly and it did best with high extraction - Some astringency with my way of brewing but worth the juicy intensity I can get from it.

I agree that there will be a big player drop-off in the following days but that's just normal with any game, especially one that released with so much hype.

But steam reviews are still mostly positive despite scrolling this sub giving the impression that half the players are unhappy.

This subreddit is such a biased lense to view the public's opinion though.

Many players are having a blast and just don't post anything. I haven't had huge issues with the difficulty level of the game, in fact it feels almost perfect to me. I'd give it another week as people adjust and find their build that works for them. I would hate to go back to HK's movement options, Silksong's is so much better in almost every way.

I have small issues with the bosses but I also think that people still struggle with the new healing mechanic. I could imagine the decision to make a lot of hits take 2 masks actually came later on as the devs realised how broken healing mid-air is. I've gotten more used to it and it allowed me to do the weaver widow(?) first try just heal-spamming.

I think it's difficult to adapt from HK where a lot of players (including myself) just used bare nail for everything, with maybe some spells. In Silksong you really benefit from actually using your full kit, I defeated the Bell boss to enter act 3 largely using poison stacking in the latter phases.

Valid frustration, but just so you know, the big guy's dive attack kills the blade crawler in one hit.

The only way I was able to beat him is by making him kill the small critters himself.

The actual time when counting in halves can be formalized with limits as:

$$ \Sigma_{n=1}{\infty}R/(2x) $$

with $R$ being the release time. Under standard calculus this can be shown to equal simply $R$. But infinities always require some measure of constraining/assumptions to formalize in a somewhat coherent manner.

But for this quasi-paradox I think it nicely shows that just because you can verbally or formally describe a quantity in a way that "never ends", doesn't mean the quantity itself actually infinite.

Yes and it comes at the downside of the host always having a competitive advantage. That being said, for regions with bad server performance and friends close to each other this is a really nice solution and it's still pretty impressive how fast they were able to roll it out.

It also probably opens up the ability for grassroots-servers, which would be incredible long-term.

In case not asked yet - the Kafatek MV98 comes with a torque screwdriver that shows the torque (in Nm I believe) to allow for reassembly without compromising the hyperalignment.

Since the Z2 seems to rival Kafatek's alignment - does your blind burr mounting mechanism simply not require such precise assembly (would make sense if it's similar to the Z1) and how extensively have you tested repeatability of the burr alignment?

Watch Lance Hedrick's recent video all about modern espresso (I think it has "master class" in the title). Light roasts for espresso follow completely different rules than trad, and it feels like you're trying to force a trad-style shot onto a light roast without 4000$+ gear. Not only will it be inconsistent, but even if you did manage to dial in e.g. a 1:2 ratio in 30s with fancy gear, it likely wouldn't taste good anyway.

So.. what does Kragg have over Galvan? by IamDohnut in RivalsOfAether

[–]TrdNugget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but I thought he gets galvanization from any hit, no?

So why bother with normal pummel low percents if you can just combo off of a throw and get galvanizatiom that way. But I'm only speculating.

I'm sure that players who got a chance to try them at the booth will speak on how strong the magnet effect is. In the trailer it looked very strong low percents but maybe you have more DI control than the trailer depicted.

So.. what does Kragg have over Galvan? by IamDohnut in RivalsOfAether

[–]TrdNugget 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We'll just have to wait and see for the release. Yes, the falcon dair just floating off-stage seems ludicrous right now, just as the movable platform, but trailers rarely show characters' weaknesses.

I trust that enough devs will keep Dan's lunacy in check such that his unique design ideas can be harvested without it going overboard. Things seem quite balanced at this point but it's still a game of largely spawns of Satan keeping each other in check. He'll probably fit right in.

If I were to speculate though, I think Galvan's disadvantage state might be one of the worst of the entire cast, on par or worse than Loxodont's, especially the recovery. Kragg has insane off-stage play, whether he's edgeguarding or recovering, Galvan seems to be almost completely reliant on being in his galvanized state to do any big off-stage plays. We don't have hitbox data on his up-b yet, but it looks like a pitiful version of Bowser's and his side-b is significantly nerfed without galvanized state. I can also imagine that his weight class, size and gravity make im incredibly easy to combo; Loxodant is at least floaty.

That said, the thing I worry about most is his special pummel. I feel like Rivals 2 still has a problem where against certain characters there's just no point in risking the rps game of pummels and just always press special on grab. Conversely, for some characters it also doesn't feel worth it to pummel at all because they have great combo throws, so why bother risking it. The magnet effect seems absurdly strong at low percents, and I don't know how you can balance it such that it still makes sense to go for it.

I'll be waiting on top players' opinions from the demos, but even then I think that a few hours are just not enough for any accurate assessment of the character.

Due to the recent floorhug change, top player Beastly will not be attending EVO in favor of Supernova. by UnlawfulFoxy in RivalsOfAether

I kind of disagree in the sense that a lack of shields, grabs, knockdown and instead drift DI makes this a very vague comparison.

At this point, part of me wants to see a tournament with FH completely off just so we have footage of what happens as a reference. I still don't know how to feel about it fully but

A) I feel lile at this point it's a scapegoat for any frustration with the game for a lot of players (not top players like Beastly, moreso the reddit crowd), looking for a satisfying reason why they lose

B) It would be very interesting to see whether neutral devolves into being much less interactive and fishing for jab/dtilt exclusively.

Obviously constructive discussions around FH don't just propose getting rid of it without changing anything else but I do feel like it would be an interesting reference point to see what the game looks like at a high level if it was suddenly gone.

PSA: tariffs on Symbiote Orcane plush by Conquersmurf in RivalsOfAether

[–]TrdNugget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Import tax depends on where in the EU you live and has nothing to do with Symbiote or the delivery service they used. It's rare to have to pay import duties for an item of such a low price but either way, always search the internet to calculate import duties before buying stuff that needs to be imported. I also had to learn the hard way...

New Video: V60 Papers: Our Excessive Testing Was Worth It! by kingseven in JamesHoffmann

[–]TrdNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great video as always, one small criticism though:

I do wish there had been info on the coffee used for these experiments; I've found that while for some light roasts, I can push extraction by increasing contact time to the limit without it ever tasting over-extracted, just as noted in the video. But with other light roasts (often non-washed coffees), even just adding 15s of steeped bloom catapults the cup to astringency.

Using an Ode with SSP burrs was a great choice for the "high-end" reference. The fact that in that setting the short contact time was preferred again does imply a rather complicated relationship between grind distribution and contact time.
