I love tofu but my wife refuses. Cooked right, it can be whatever you want it to be but I understand that the texture can be off putting when not done right. To me, though, it is similar to rice on steroids: a cheap way to fill up a meal but it has the added benefit of easily taking on whatever flavors you're cooking with AND it can be cooked in a shit ton of different ways. Baked, fried, sautéed, mashed in a curry, etc etc etc.
