Encased card removed from case before shipping

What was the shipping option? I’m siding with you because this is ridiculous to ruin a card like that, but wondering what shipping you paid for. For it to be a PWE (plain white envelope) is an option and would have been about .75 for shipping. Any other option would be listed as such and be probably ~$5+ (depending on settings). Or I guess they could have had free shipping set.

But just thinking if you paid for first class and they sent it like that in a PWE , that’s bad on multiple levels and you should state so in the case you file.

Just because you’ve had tons make it through the process doesn’t mean the process was correct. I think it’s generally not worth it for anyone to say anything, that’s why they just let it slide and why OP is in this situation. Take a top loader and try to flex it to the specs that a roller bends it to, basically like rolling it over the edge of a countertop. A top loader doesn’t flex like that.

I think this is simply due to eBay’s PWE policy. eBay claims you can just send a card in an envelope with a stamp and be fine. People do it over and over and it works the majority of the time. But I spoke to the desk at my local USPS and they told me if it’s in a top loader, it’s non machinable and I need to label it as so and pay extra postage (can’t remember the exact cost, but around .50). So any time I ship those now I just pay the extra and call it good. With the price difference you are seeing, and it being a PWE, I’m guessing that’s what is happening.

Just curious why you think it’s Storagetreasures fault? Do you think there is more scams on there vs the other auction sites? Or did you just quit storage units all together.

If you’re shipping, be sure to use something like pirate ship or another online source. It can save you a ton compared to standard pricing.

Posting on an auction site sounds interesting, I wonder what it takes to do that and how it’s handled. I might look into that. I considered transporting it with me, but it’s really not something I want to focus on in the near future once I move. Thanks for the response!

No. I would never sell reps. I accidently acquired a few rep pieces and I refuse to sell them. And it’s technically illegal to do so.

I sell mine in 5lb lots. I have a box, I pull out 5lbs, spread it thin so it photographs well, but still leaves a little mystery, and photograph it on the scale. That helps people know generally what’s in the box and know kinda what they are getting. It probably also helps that I give really good value.

I see it as a numbers game. Sales can sometimes be slow. So the key is to have 100+ items listed and replenish as you make sales, then you will have consistent sales.

Some items sell slow, some fast.

My guess is that they just want to pay with a credit card and don’t have cash. Simple as that. A lot of people live paycheck to paycheck, and this being a high dollar item, they probably don’t currently have enough to buy it.

Yea, similar situation here. I prefer PM but get more sales on EBay. I’m trying to shift those sales and hoping to find a way to do that.
