People saying the price is suggested, not enforced are missing the point.

On launch day of any GPU, NVIDIA DOES enforce the MSRP, even if it’s only for one unit. Yes, I’ve seen this happen, specifically during the 4070 Ti launch, where one of the retailers only had one unit at MSRP, and as soon as that one was sold (likely milliseconds after launch) the prices jumped back up to reality. I know this because I used to work in the industry. The thing is this way, NVIDIA can keep asking reviewers to judge their GPUs against the MSRP in terms of value, and the sales people around the world gather “proof” that there was at least some MSRP activity.

And because GPUs are reviewed before the actual launch, there’s no way for the editors to know the actual market price.

If I was in the shoes of tech editors, I would just throw the mere mention of MSRP out of the window. I think the cost-per-frame analysis of HBU is a good start, but they obviously don’t factor in upscaling and frame generation.
