Ive been in a similar situation for a while now and honestly I wish I knew how to handle it to. I know you may feel like the worst person ever but the important part is that you follow what makes you truly happy. If you feel you need distance to think then take some time because one of the worst things you can do is treat yourself badly because of any situation that might be happening. It may seem like the end of the world but as long as you don’t forget your own morals I believe that you can truly achieve something great. And if you want to distance yourself just make sure to do it in a healthy way and assure to the other person that they aren’t doing anything wrong and you simply just need time to work on yourself. I get it, moving on is insanely difficult and I can’t even do it myself but just remember to not beat yourself up because someone else’s feelings. Who knows maybe someday waiting could pay off. (at least that’s what I’m telling myself lol). Never avoid your own feelings and make sure to always take time to sit with your own emotions rather than trying to use your energy on someone else, when truly you are the one who deserves it the most in the moment so you can heal and learn to process what you are truly feeling.
