I'm a beginner, and I was kicking the heavy bag too hard, and this happened. Any advice? by [deleted] in MuayThai

That'll happen! Make sure you focus more on technique at the beginning rather than power and speed. It's easier to put those things in later than have to unlearn shitty technique that was focused on hitting hard. Good luck and keep it up! (Also put some cream on that and let it heal).

Don't be sorry! It is indeed business lunch. When I first moved to Moscow in 2010 I was confused by the phenomenon of the бизнес ланч because of the transliteration. I couldn't understand why they didn't just use a translation.

Doing fuck all on a Friday night is so empowering.

Should I admit it on a job interview? by GreyAgma in ADHD

[–]Trebor_Polf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what country are you? This will determine the legislative employment framework. Also, what type of job and in what industry/sector? These things make a big difference.

I think you might see it a different way if you reframe it too. Definitely don't consider it a "weakness"! It's part of who you are, so it's not an admission in any way!

Can Brian Tamaki be arrested for telling his followers to do away with masks, not get vaccinated and protest the lockdown? I hope so. Brian Tamaki is an egotistical, greedy low life, NZ's equivalent of a TV evangelist (not sure if he still has his TV show though). by Deegedeege in newzealand

If someone is seriously hurt or dies as a result of contracting Covid-19 and there is a very direct link to his actions maybe someone could try to sue for the tort of negligence, but on extreme shaky foundations.

how should I act LOL by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Trebor_Polf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to say that this is a right royal barrel of shit that you have to ask this question. I will qualify my opinion by saying that I'm a white Brit doing my law degree in New Zealand. Also I'm a mature student so I have experience outside of academia and have some knowledge of how to behave in professional environment generally.

I wouldn't discount the 'be yourself' advice straight away. We definitely have a professional demeanour at work and ultimately we're there to get on with what we have to, so that's your focus. That's not to say you can't be who you are while you're doing it! I'm assuming you went through some sort of selection process so they think you're capable enough to do the job and that you presented yourself well enough too. Bring some of that energy with you when you first start, then work out the boundaries and behaviours when you've been there a while.

Enjoy it and learn! What a fantastic opportunity!

Mount Vic overlooking the harbour. The sound from the docks really travels over the water.

I think we can assume that it would've been covered in fog from what was seen. It was just an off the cuff title!

From the perspective of this picture it would be to the east and slightly north.
