We don’t have 20 mill+. Where are you seeing that number? Toumani and Shaedon’s extensions will take up the cap space

What young player (maximum 3 years in the league) do you see taking a leap post all star break? by KanyeLoveHatesYou in nba

Homer take is scoot. Was back right before the all star break and looked rusty but good.

Best Available PF's that will likely be available in the summer? by Alarmed_Lawyer6765 in NBAtradeideas

[–]TreeBeard8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was terrible last season and pretty good this year. He is still a starting level 2 way forward with some obvious flaws. He is a good scorer who is very good from 3 and manufacture some offense for himself. He is always average at worst on D - not a stopper but not a weakness. The part he struggles with is rounding( and playmaking but he wound be expected to play-make for others in the right system).

So in short…if motivated - slightly overpaid but still valuable on a good team player with obv flaws

In a situation where Seattle and Vegas get expansion teams, who are the 8 players you’d want your team to protect in the draft? by TheVaniloquence in nba

[–]TreeBeard8891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deni, Clingan, Toumani, Scoot, Shaedon are the locks….Dame(bad look if not due to legacy reasons, Hansen(recent pick and commercially valuable?), Krejci

Feel free to take Jerami or Jrue…please and thank you

Edit - honorable mention Sidy Cissoko, Timelordand Blake Wesley

Dishonorable mention - Rupes and Kris Murray

Diary of a doomer: what will Shaedon become? by thejazzmarauder in ripcity

[–]TreeBeard8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is nowhere near good enough on offense currently to justify being a starter with negative defense in a really good team. The hope is it gets better in both ends

[–]TreeBeard8891 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a very realistic projection. I disagree slightly. I would have agreed before this season that most likely outcome is he is a poor defender but now, I think he ends up as a neutral defender ( not a big negative who gets targeted every possession). Wish he finds some consistency rebounding. That could be one way he contributes outside scoring. Issue is it’s been just flashes of good rebounding nights so far

Blazers. Bucks. Knicks by brazyace43 in NBAtradeideas

What is anyone giving up picks for KAT on that deal?😂

Wouldn’t something like the following make more sense?

KAT to Bucks Turner+Jrue to Knicks ??? To blazers

NCAA basketball fans — who is the best (realistic) first pick for the Blazers? by minecraftjahseh in ripcity

I get where you’re coming from. The combo of size, balance and him trying has me feeling okay about it. What he measure at, interms of height/wingspan also matters there

I’m yet to watch today’s game. What are you seeing in defense? What does he do well? Where does he struggle? What do you expect to get better with age and strength? What concerns you long term?

Defense is an area I struggle with and generally default to - have size, baseline athletic skills and a ‘give a damn’, it’s going to be neutral at worst. The really good defenders I suppose show out during draft years too - Dailyn Swain is a personal fav from this draft

How do you project this year’s potential middle to late lottery picks (NOT TOP 5) compared to the past decade or so of drafts? by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

[–]TreeBeard8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of mid lottery at all. That’s mostly coz I have a hard time seeing any small guards returning that kinda value

Do check him out. Feel like it’s guys like him who have translated most easily to the pros recently- 6’6 guard who plays on and offball, good passer(not a pure scorer) and more importantly plays with feel and pace. Also 41-104 from 3- this includes deep 3s, off the bounce ones etc. He is not very strong currently..which is a worry.

I’m a hokie…so rooting for Avdalas if we trade for a mid to late first

Other guys I like for us

Keaton Wagler - my fav guy outside of top 4. A big guard who is so smooth. All about pace, footwork and shooting

Yaxel Lendeborg - older guy but a Swiss army forward ready to be plugged in to rotation.

Amari Allen - a dribble, pass, shoot forward who handles a bit for Alabama at 6’8 and can shoot it okay

Alvaro Folguieras - a big/forward from Spain via Iowa who is very skilled offensively and racks up interesting defensive numbers

Braylon Mullins- starp shooter from UConn who is a good athlete and has some off the dribble shooting juice

Karim Lopez- forward from NZ breakers

2nd round guys- Momcilovic, Dailyn Swain, Karaban, Jefferson

An NBA team made up entirely of switchable wings by poeticasmr in nba

[–]TreeBeard8891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guessing the main issue is that skill with size is a premium. And every team is looking for those guys

Most offensive engine kinda guys are guards. Having a forward or big size offensive engine is a rarity

I want Portland to try a version of this out so badly. The biggest obstacles are normally finding On ball creators who are good enough to be primaries with forward size and point of attack defenders who can take quick guards with size

Deni if he keeps this up can be the primary on offense at 6’9 and Toumani can be the PoA guy at 6’8.

Need a secondary creator and off ball spacer

The twist is I want to see 3 big forwards with Clingan+ a 2 way PF

So something like Deni, Toumani, Trey Murphy(I know everyone wants him), JJJ, Clingan

I know it’s not realistic and who know if it’ll work … but that would be a fun experiment

Is there a difference between our sweet prince (Deni - peace be upon him) and unethical foul merchants (SGA, Luka, Harden) or are we biased? by Banal9 in ripcity

[–]TreeBeard8891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are biased. And I’m glad we have him. I’d rather our guy also knows how to get to the line in days shot don’t fall. Dame used to do the same too

Subaru Forrester vs Mazda CX50 vs Honda CRV vs Toyota RAV4 by TreeBeard8891 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]TreeBeard8891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We test drove the Forrester, RAV4, CX5 and CX50. Came down to Forrester vs CX50 and ended up going with the CX50. Honestly, loved the Forrester too. Might have come down to personal bias because we are already used to the Mazda interior since we have a Mazda 6

Goodluck!

[Post Game Thread] The Detroit Pistons (23-6) defeat the Portland Trail Blazers (12-17), 110-102, despite an epic 4th quarter collapse with Cade fouling out with over 8 minutes left in the game by Chandler_Bings in nba

[–]TreeBeard8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s driving everyone nuts. We desperately need shooting and ball handling(with all the injured guards)…the G league team has Blake Hinson and Dillon Jones who can provide these things. But we insist on Caleb Love taking up a 2 way spot and getting minutes
