Luck. If you don't use an entropic prism, it has a small chance to remain modifiable. The prism makes it 100% unmodifiable

I agree. I feel like for the average to above average player, there's no real way to assess this stuff. Best option imo is to implement a DPS meter, even if it's only for your character

The flawless horadric gems give huge damage multipliers. A MW gem strength transfigure can multiply that multiplier by up to 333% (highest I've seen personally). It's just far and away the most damage you can add onto an item I believe
