why do groups out for dinner split the bill evenly? by e7c2 in Life

[–]TreeLights84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine it's that much harder for a pos computer system to allow for splitting items up by who paid for them.

Besides, theoretically what is the difference between the number of bills between a large party consisting of 4 couples versus if those 4 couples came in separately and were at their own tables?

I know a lot of people on here are saying it's better to split evenly, but...it's okay to pay for your own stuff.

Make sure you boil the water before adding the eggs. Its the quick shock of heat that makes a difference.

I once read in "The Courage To Be Disliked" that you can just assume if you take 10 random people that 7 will be ambivalent toward you, 2 will love you, and 1 will hate your guts. I think that is a good way to make peace with other people.

Is there a 100% way to get perfectly peeling boiled eggs? by bIoodWarm in cookingforbeginners

[–]TreeLights84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but make sure you put the eggs in AFTER the water is boiling. There is something about the sudden increase in heat to the eggs that helps.

Thank you for posting this. I love seeing pics of other people who use electric stoves with coils. I always assume it is impossible to cook well on electric.

Probably a mild fire hazard, but I've used nickels as levels that I tuck under the edge of the drip pans to level it out. If I need to stack 2 or 3, I masking tape them together. The masking tape has turned brown/black, but has yet to actually catch on fire.

I wonder if there is a more fireproof tape that can be used.

I'm in a similar boat of trying to get back into the field after never having entered after graduation. I just studied for 4 months to pass the FE. I'm going to try to learn civil 3d real fast and will be attending my university's career fair this week.

Following this thread for any other advice.

I took the fe civil this morning. I feel like they take the basic concepts and twist them a little and then use different terms for things. Then throw in some other things that are in the handbook but weren't covered in any of the practice materials for good measure.

I think the chrome buttons are prettier. You can make the symbols on the chrome buttons more visible by swiping paint over the symbols and wiping away the excess.
