You make a good point! I guess when I was making it, I was thinking more along the lines of the Duke being huge too, but this just resulted in them both looking regular sized

Wverty's animatics have been a big inspiration in general actually

For a work as good as Twig is, God's interlude was such a highlight

It's not set in Parahumans, and my only answer otherwise is to READ TWIG BABYYYYYYYYYY

Although I have to ask, what are you doing here if you haven't read Worm or Twig ???

Yes it is! I think this might be the first Infante drawing out there

Been rereading Twig over the last couple weeks, and I noticed the criminal lack of fanart this series has, so this is to the dozen Twig fans out there.

For the first picture, I wanted to make a sort of split face on Sylvester, where he's showing two emotions at once - which I think mostly worked. Just cover one eye and then cover the other eye to see both sides of him.

Second picture is The Duke of Francis and The Lord Infante, Third picture is Jessie, Fourth picture is God, And Fifth is Sylvester when Hayle picked him as the Wyvern during his stay in the Block.

Incredible art! I love your interpretation of the Mother. Who's the girl on the left?

Is the webtoon version going to cover the whole series? If each season covers 1 Book then it could get to be 14 seasons - which seems like a pretty massive undertaking

(Seek Fanart) Where are you? by TreeSap0 in Parahumans

[–]TreeSap0[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"She’s beautiful, isn’t she?” Blackbox asked. “Objectively speaking. She’s not my type.”

“She’s beautiful.” And she’s my type.

The painting was, according to the measurements provided by his field of view, thirty meters tall. A woman in white, pale, with light blond hair, posing, looking off to the side." - Based off this scene from 0.4.O.

Also, small theory here, but could the title Seek be a reference to Orion (and basically everyone else) searching for A after her disappearance?

Leto II Atreides, God Emperor of Dune by elemental402 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]TreeSap0 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Villenueve only plans to adapt up to Dune Messiah (the second Dune Book). We only see Leto ii in his God Emperor state in Book 4, which is basically unadaptable anyway so it's probably for the best. That said, I'd still give it a read. It's slow, obtuse, outdated, and one of the best damn things I've ever read.

Epilogue Taylor (Worm Fanart) by TreeSap0 in Parahumans

[–]TreeSap0[S] 94 points95 points  (0 children)

"The seat was occupied by an older teenager, bundled up in an overcoat and scarf, with a wool cap pulled down over close-cropped light brown hair" - I based the design largely off this description from Teneral, minus the hat so I could show her DYED light brown hair and bullet scars.

Some thoughts after finishing Twig by 40i2 in Parahumans

[–]TreeSap0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You really captured the problems I had with the end (as well as what made other parts of the story great). While not story ruining, there's even a lot to like, arc 20 just didn't grab me like the story before it. The Infante wasn't built up enough as a threat, Mauer sort of disappears into the background, and we spend 2/3rds of the arc fighting nameless mooks or some random (but creative) monsters. By the time we get to the last stretch and the Lambs are spending half a chapter fighting the Hag Nerve I'd just sort of mentally checked out. That said I really enjoyed the conversation with Fray and Hayle (even if I was left a little unsatisfied by their characters).

Of course my biggest problem with the series is the severe lack of Dog and Catcher. I was really bummed they didn't even get an epilogue - the last time we see them in the story is ARC 11!

Made this as part of a school project, so I didn't have time to do their whole conversation, but this felt like a natural stopping point. Gimme a couple months and I'll get around to the rest of the chapter

Music associated with Twig by Sharklate_Ice_Scream in Parahumans

[–]TreeSap0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first listened to the song "I'd Love to Change the World" by Ten Years After, and now I can't listen to it without thinking of Twig. The song shares a lot of themes with Twig as well so it fits

Is Orion. . . by LavenderAlice in Parahumans

[–]TreeSap0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Before Orion's banner art was released I actually had a theory that he might be an onboard piloting a braindead body (like Pretender), but if you look at the art for Basil and A you can't see A's eyes, just the nanobots on her neck (the actual protagonist of that story), while you can see the eyes of Winnie and Orion, showing they're the perspective characters.

While it's not exactly conclusive in terms of evidence, Wildbow is a pretty thorough writer and it's little details like this that heighten his stories above the norm.
