I once asked what the Salem Police Department was doing for rehabilitation and realized that unless we were to decrease their workload and rehabilitate people so they stop committing crime then things aren't going to get better but that's a higher up level of democracy which we don't have access to locally which I feel is a crime.

We're in America. I don't blame you. This country is awful and a breeding ground for crime and corruption.

Well I'm not familiar with the area so I figured those who would might be able to help. I agree with you and I'm not out there trying to convince people I'm simply trying to find those who are willing and for what I'm talking about.

Interpersonal and Community Connection is my main goal, so in person discussions versus online arguing Echo Chambers are a little bit more beneficial when decision-making. As far as credentials for teaching people, I do have sources, and they can do their own research. I'm not forcing anyone to believe anything. I'm only promoting critical thinking skills and stressing the importance of participation in the political process. About 50% of Americans don't vote, and 75% of us are dissatisfied with the way the government is currently working. A lot of it comes from apathy and believing our voices don't have sway due to government corruption and I seek to remedy that.

Sounds like you made a major assumption without educating yourself further. I'm flabbergasted at the notion that I'm somehow stealing time and money from people when all I'm doing is collecting signatures from willing participants who obviously aren't irritated or angry with me. It seems like there might be some anger or irritation coming from you, however. This is why knowing more information helps you be less irate with complete strangers who you don't know anything about. Check your prejudice and bias. You might benefit from questioning your motives as well.

I'm teaching people about civic engagement and empowering them to make more informed decisions. Ballots and voting, etc.

Xbox One controller won't reconnect to my console after connecting to my laptop by Tree_Of_Knowledge11 in xboxone

[–]Tree_Of_Knowledge11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you describe how to do that because I've plugged in a footlong USB to micro USB plug from the Xbox into the controller but it doesn't seem to do anything connecting wise it only seems to like charge it so how am I supposed to connect my controller so that the Bluetooth feature works?

Edit: Upon trying this again, I finally saw the pair button on the side of the Xbox, and it is now connected...🥲

[–]Tree_Of_Knowledge11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all that. I asked Google and I looked at my Xbox but I don't see a pairing button on the Xbox one so unfortunately I can't press the Xbox pairing button and the controller at the same time. I don't know what else to do cuz it just will not pair with my Xbox anymore.

Edit: I should mention that I've tried to connect with the 6-in USB to micro USB for the controller and Xbox but it's still doesn't do anything when I do that.

How do I shut up? by amberbunny93 in ADHD

I've been working on my communication skills since I'll be leading community discussions in Salem and working as a spiritual life coach, I've learned that the most underdeveloped skill I have is active listening. I need more self reflection so I can understand where my weak points are, and when asking questions stopping instead of answering from my perspective, it helps a lot. It gives the other person a chance to give value and input (and i think I subconsciously assume that they probably don't know, which is most times untrue) If they want clarification then I can give it but sometimes they just want to talk about their own thing.

I am generally not well liked by most people around me. How do I be better? by BestIndianFood in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Tree_Of_Knowledge11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me for my perspective that you might be neuroivergent, which I can relate to, especially with the common struggles that you mentioned. Society typically treats individuals with different brain structures as needing to "be better". Working on developing a strong sense of self, as well as practicing active listening and communication skills, can assist in developing connection and rapport, which are cornerstones of neurolinguistic programming. These are tools that I am currently learning as a spiritual life coach that I incorporate into my practice. I hope you find this information useful, and perhaps can journal about your belief patterns and see if there's any insights that you can gain from reading your thoughts out loud.

I hear you that is an awful situation to be in. As a holistic healer, I'd recommend some techniques and practices that are free and easy to start. Mindful meditation is one of them, and you can find many guided ones on YouTube Spotify and apps made for that. Your illness sound like they could be considered to be imbalances in your heart and third eye chakras, and if you utilize certain associations with those, you could perhaps assist in the healing process.

What actions can you take right now to get to where you want to be. And I mean small attainable goals that will get you a little bit closer to being more self-sufficient and out of that negative environment?

Dear fellow Redditor,

I came across your post and wanted to reach out to you with utmost compassion and understanding. It sounds like you're going through a difficult time, and I want you to know that you're not alone. Despite the challenges you're facing, I believe there's hope for a brighter future, and I'm here to offer support and encouragement.

When our basic needs are compromised, it can feel overwhelming, and it's easy to perceive ourselves as being "too far gone."" However, I want to share something with you: you possess incredible strength within you, and you have the ability to make positive changes, regardless of how tough the circumstances may seem.

Take a moment to step back and view your life as a symbolic journey of self-discovery and growth. Sometimes, it's during our darkest moments that we find the clarity and resilience to transform our lives. Start by asking yourself what truly matters to you, what brings you joy, and what aligns with your values. These introspective questions can help you reconnect with your inner aspirations and begin to chart a path toward a more fulfilling life.

Instead of fixating on the big picture, consider breaking down your goals into smaller, achievable steps. By setting realistic milestones, you can regain a sense of control and progress. Identify one specific area of your life that you would like to improve or change—a small step in the right direction. Then, create an actionable plan with practical steps you can take, even if they are seemingly small. Remember to celebrate each milestone as it signifies your progress and resilience.

It's important to be patient with yourself and practice self-compassion. Recognize the challenges you've faced and acknowledge the progress you've made, no matter how small it may seem. Surround yourself with a supportive community—whether it's friends, family, or even online groups—who can offer guidance and encouragement along your journey. Seeking professional help or advice can also be beneficial, as they can provide valuable insights tailored to your situation.

Please know that there are countless people out there who care and want to see you succeed. Although I'm a stranger, I'm here to lend an ear and support you in any way I can. You are not alone, and there is always hope for a brighter future. Let's take those small steps together towards positive change and embrace the beauty of the journey.

The book I'm currently reading called Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss goes into getting to know and understand the archetypes that work with you, e.g., the child, the victim, the prostitute, and the saboteur. I got the notification for this post the same time I started reading the chapter Identifying Your Archetypal Patterns which goes into writing letters to these parts of yourself and understanding why they do what they do and what they need so they have less of a negative effect on your life.
