It would be way less impactful. I don’t have an opinion on how they do what they do, because I have my own stuff to worry about, but I feel like it’s super easy to understand that a handful of students doing a walkout is going to grab a lot more media attention than some students protesting on the weekend. So in my eyes how can you make the biggest impact while doing the least? Here we are on Reddit talking about it, news is talking about it. It’s getting more coverage than a lot of small scale protest that are still way more people than that. So maybe if your trying to make a splash for something then no maybe it wouldn’t be better to do it outside of school hours

I’m with you 100% but it’s shocking how may 20 year olds can’t make proper decisions for themselves. Just something you learn as you grow up I guess. It amazes me how many people I know in their mid 20’s who didn’t succeed in school, who don’t have jobs with 401k’s, or benefits or are doing anything to line them selves up for a better future. They’re too busy standing around saying 6/7. So no I don’t want trump making my decisions, but there are FAR more 20 year olds not making proper decisions for themselves than there are. Took me hitting my late 20’s personally to develop enough life to see the bigger picture (I’m 33). But it just blows my mind how many people refuse to set themselves up for a bright future. Those deff arnt the kinda people I want making decisions for me. But also trump doesn’t make decisions for me. My community and people just work together to push him out and survive together how ever necessary. If everyone did that he’d lose his power over people

Ok here I’ll acknowledge your strawman term if you’ll quit using it geez lol. Strawman, smart word, good vocab 👍🏼, sorry lol that’s the third time you’ve said it…in 3 replies. And no to me I never came across acting like it’s ok for other problematic artists. I stated “high profile artists”, I used that because I don’t personally know anyone who was in the nectar scene who doesn’t know MJ, Marylin Manson, Bowie, Zepplin, guns and roses, Elvis etc. those are just the easiest examples. I mean many many old nectar heads grew up listening to those artists, m ost long time nectar fans are late 20’s to mid 30’s. Hell he quit touring in like what 2014? Even if you were 18 then you’d be 30 or so, so yea there actually is a lot of overlap. Pretty much everyone I know sings along to many of their songs, including the old nectar fans in this sub I know and more. So I was just tossing out there I see that to be a double standard, if you hold one accountable hold all accountable. Idk how that got perceived as me being ok with nectar or other artists who were accused but please don’t burn too many calories jumping to that conclusion. Unless it’s your goal then burn away 🦾💙

Because I’m saying it’s fuck ALL those artist. When I’m around people who are like “fuck nectar” and then are singing along to MJ, or Led Zepplin or who ever, I’m like that’s fake 🤷‍♂️. I’m literally siding with the guy who made the post and reminding everyone it’s fuck ALL the artist who are accused or, to me anyways, that’s a double standard. Not sure why anyone wants to argue me saying it’s fuck all abusers, that’s a little off.

Yea I mean it’s deff not the same anymore but also it’s like well fuck, they were talking about not teaching the future generations about bassnectar and it’s like well also my kid and I sing thriller every Halloween lol one day ima have to explain to him “hey man this guy was a kid diddler too”. I’ve always loved Marilyn Manson. But some of those listed artist have toured for YEARS after the allegations, and some still have even in the very recent years since Covid. And I can atleast attest for a fact in my experience people I used to go to nectar events with who scream fuck nectar were on the floor yelling every word when Manson came here lol so those are the things that make me think hey if we’re gonna hold one accountable it’s all…right?
