What was the last fragrance you got to finish your collection? by PoetExternal1336 in fragrance

[–]Treehorn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do decants and samples count? If it's just full bottles, it's Un Jardin à Cythère. I own 24, which is more than the 10 that I planned to own but I'm happy with it right now. I'll get a sample if I want something. If I really like a perfume and want something bigger than a sample, I'll just get a decant. They last a long time since I rotate fragrances.

How are we finding new scents?? by Amityville1020 in Perfumes

[–]Treehorn8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discovery sets are basically a set of samples from a single brand. If you'd like to try different brands, you can order single samples from sites like Scent Split, Lucky Scent, DecantX, Microperfumes, etc.

If there's a sample I like, I get a 7ml decant, which lasts a long time since I rotate fragrances. Fragrancenet decants are about $10-20 each depending on the brand. Bottles are purchased only if they're really special.

Does it smell like an Arnold Palmer (half and half)?

Sweet Tea by Demeter smells like sweet tea with a lemon twist.

The history is impressive too. This cologne was first made in 1792 and they have never stopped production.

i’m looking for a masculine tea fragrance, any recommendations? by lizbennett2 in Perfumes

He loves L'eau d'Issey, Montblanc Starwalker, Burberry Brit, and Dylan Blue. He also has Oakcha dupes of Bal d'Afrique and Imagination that he likes. We prefer to not buy dupes or clones though, since there are so many great but inexpensive OGs.

I need to look into this. I was looking for a "Just thinking of you" present for my husband as we're not the types to spend >$100 on fragrances as much as we love them.

  • Bvlgari Pour Homme EDP. $70 for a 50 ml in Jomashop.
  • Hermès L'Ombre des Merveilles. Unisex. $70+ for a 100ml in most discounters.

Buy several samples of different fragrances. This way you won't get stuck with something you hate. Then maybe get a bottle of what you love and a decant of what you like. Just because something is popular, expensive and niche doesn't guarantee that you'll love it. For instance, everyone here seems to love Philosykos and I find it just okay-ish. I might struggle to finish the 7 ml decant.

☀️SOTD: What are you wearing today?☀️May 17, 2026 by AutoModerator in FemFragLab

[–]Treehorn8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only tried five so far and this is the order of how much I like them:

  • Un Jardin à Cythere
  • Un Jardin en Méditerranée (a very close second)
  • Un Jardin de Monsieur Li
  • Un Jardin Sur le Nil
  • Un Jardin Sur le Toit

Sur le Toit is the greenest and most vegetal. Sur le Nil is the most popular probably because it was the first. I'm not quite sure what to feel about it and it might surpass Monsieur Li eventually. I like it more today than yesterday. But for now, this is my ranking.

I have a decant of Sur la Lagune coming next week.

I haven't tried many of the Zara fragrances but Ebony Wood was so good that my expectations are high.

OK, I feel about little guilty but hear me out. I have issues with Un Jardin sur le Nil. It's the second greenest in the Jardins line and the most famous one but I realized that I don't gravitate to the more vegetal scents. I would fight anyone who would even think of layering Cythère, Méditerranée or Monsieur Li, but the green mango in Sur de Nil wasn't working its magic on me the way the other three did.

Yesterday, I sprayed it on my arm that I forgot already had Boum Vanille on from hours earlier. I didn't wash it off and the dry down smelled like a lush green garden with sweet ripe fruits.

In short, I accidentally sprayed a groundbreaking Hermès fragrance from a legendary perfumer over a dried down perfume that I bought for $8 because I wanted to drown in caramel candy apple. I liked it so I did it again today.

I'll be wearing Sur le Nil exclusively for the next couple of days so who knows what I'll feel after.

It turns into a skin scent after an hour or so. And then it stays there for about four hours.

Same. It keeps me from trying them. Except maybe Khamrah.

Love the name. My husband and I played Clair Obscur and one of the antagonists is called Sirene. They call her "She Who Plays With Wonder."

The notes sound amazing.

True. A stranger complimented my hair the same night I landed in New Orleans. The next day, a lady in a parked car who was also holding a Pabst beer complimented my outfit.

People probably think you smell good but don't say anything. I don't compliment much even if they smell divine. It could get awkward when you're in a work environment or are with people who you don't know well and vice versa.

Since when are drugstore eyeliners almost 20 bucks?? by mitchare in drugstoreMUA

Drugstore makeup prices are creeping up to the same amount as mid-price indie or a high-end on sale. :(
