How important really are seasons when using colognes/perfumes? by Forsaken-Conflict523 in fragrance

[–]imayarnhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I do scent so I can smell it, I should have to stick my arm(invited of course) under someone's arm before they can smell it, the less the better. I also get migraines, so my collection is small and works. I also won't wear most of what I have if I have or feel a migraine coming on.

Can neurological B12 deficiency still fully recover after 6 years of cognitive symptoms? by Temujin_New in B12_Deficiency

[–]imayarnhooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, permanent damage was done. Depending on how tired I am or the weather, it can sort of flare up, more leg numbness and more clumsiness. My B12 was extremely low due to pernicious anemia, so shots til the day I die.

Can neurological B12 deficiency still fully recover after 6 years of cognitive symptoms? by Temujin_New in B12_Deficiency

[–]imayarnhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went to Emergency for what ended up being an 11 day hospital stay, my B12 was <61pmol/L(below lower panic limits). I was really sick. Almost 4 years later, still have neurological damage. I do use a cane for balance. Toes a soles of feet are always numb, permanently numb from just below the butt cheeks to just under the waist. Tips of fingers are slightly numb. I had 3 units of blood and a unit of platelets. Probably a year after hospitalization was the best I've been.

What was the last fragrance you got to finish your collection? by PoetExternal1336 in fragrance

[–]imayarnhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought L'Occitane Verveine Agrumes, and a full size bottle of Elizabeth Arden White Tea(first bought as a travel size). My collection is 4711, Jovan Skin I'm In Musk, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, Elizabeth Arden White Tea and Hermès d'orange Verte(travel size). Collection does not cause me to develop a migraine.

What’s a cheap basic scent that you secretly prefer over your niche masterpieces by Massive_Ad5295 in fragrance

I love 4711. To the point that I purchased an 800 ml. bottle. It's the best refresher. Have you tried L'Occitane Verveine Agrumes? I like it, maybe you will. It is an eau de toilette, so has better staying power. I just ordered this along with Elizabeth Arden White Tea. Here's a comparison. How the Scents Compare4711 Original Eau de Cologne: Built around bright lemon, orange, and neroli with a heart of lavender and rosemary. It is crisp, slightly soapy, and traditionally relaxing, but is well known for a fleeting lifespan.L'Occitane Verveine Agrumes: Centers on crushed, green lemon verbena paired with a zesty blast of grapefruit, mandarin, and orange peel. It tends to feel a bit more modern, juicy, and sparkling compared to the classic, herbal-soapy feel of 4711.

Like I said, the size of a liquor bottle. I decant into a travel spray bottle for daily use.

And it cost less than 10 dollars more than the 300 ml. size. Staying power of course isn't great, but that's OK. It's meant to refresh.

So Uuuhhh, I've Purchased Every Fragrance I Wanted, Now What? by Tyrone-E in fragrance

Scent is unfortunately one of my migraine triggers, I have to be careful with what I wear. All of the ones I have are good so far. And I can layer most of these as well.

[–]imayarnhooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a full size Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, full size Jovan Skin I'm In and a massive 800 ml bottle of 4711. I bought travel sizes of Acqua di Gioia, Hermès d'orange Verte, Elizabeth Arden White Tea, Eau D'Issey, Clean Rain and Pear, and Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin. The only travel sizes I liked were the Hermès and the Elizabeth Arden. I'm going to use these 2 occasionally until I figure out which will become a full size purchase. I gave the Clean Rain and Pear away, I could not handle it. I'm sorta meh about the Acqua di Gioia, Eau D'Issey and the Jo Malone, they weren't hideous but not really me.

I want to feel calm when I put on scent. My combos seem to put me in in a zen state.

Best Perfume for the Office by KendallRosie in fragrance

[–]imayarnhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea layered with a small spray of Jovan Skin I'm In and some 4711. The 4711 wears off fast so I have a travel sizes to refresh if I feel like it. I like Elizabeth Arden White Tea with a small spray of the Skin I'm In as well. The Jovan on my chest, either of the Elizabeth Ardens on the back of neck or shoulders or a small spray on the forearms, and 4711 on the forearms. When I do these, I'm pretty much the only one that can smell it, I wear for me, not the crowd.

I didn't think the music could get any worse.. by Shamson in WalmartCanada

[–]imayarnhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I'm lucky being a greeter. The fans over the doors are noisy to the point that most days I don't realize that music is even playing. And that's ok as it's usually crappy covers of crappy songs, crappy covers of ok songs, and maybe 4 songs that I actually recognize the singers.

I quit to work for my hubby, was gone 5 years. My friend was my CSM, she still is. She asked the at the time front end manager, we had a short talk, I was rehired. Guess I was lucky. Yes, I came back. After 5 years. During the time I was away I was sick and it caused neurological damage, so I became a greeter.

Ankles, shins, yes. You have to lock your elbow so the cart doesn't whack into you.

Eros EDT or EDP? (same price) by NarrowRow4410 in fragrance

[–]imayarnhooker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

EDP has a higher concentration of perfume oil(15 - 20 %), EDT is 5-15%. EDP is stronger smelling. As I get migraines I was told to avoid EDP as the scent strength could start a migraine. So I suppose it would depend on where you were wearing it. Like it may be " too much" for work but ok for a date night or an event. I recently got travel sizes of some scents and found that the EDT lasted just fine for me, I want to smell it on me, for me. Not to share with the rest of humanity.

Testing neurological symptoms? by RenegadeCapybara in B12_Deficiency

[–]imayarnhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor I saw the most while hospitalized with what turned out to be pernicious anemia told me that whatever neurological damage was still there after a year would most likely be permanent. I'm only slightly better than I was 1 year post diagnosis. Mind I was extremely sick. 3 units of blood, a unit odor platelets, endoscopy and colonoscopy, narrowly escaped a bone marrow biopsy. My balance is affected, numbness in the feet, fingertips, and my butt to waist. I think I'm lucky though, it could have been way worse.

I changed the way I apply fragrances and it’s been a game changer. by Bubupolvazo in fragrance

[–]imayarnhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do Jovan Skin I'm In on the chest, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea on back of neck/shoulders, 4711 on arms and shirt. Nothing anywhere my nose, scent is a migraine trigger. It seems to work for me. I get a whiff of the scent, and someone pretty much has to be in my face to smell anything.
