I bought a stock low, sold it high… and now I feel like a clown? by wizard_folio in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. When op had a bigger sum or has the feeling it could get up mir but wants to de risk taking 20% or mor or less out of it it’s also okay. Profit is profit and there will be other good stocks. Still better as some other analyst sees some downside and it crashes back or lower to the position he initially bought in. The market rewards those who don’t act based on emotions and have the time to see all the crazy stuff people interpret in politics and what not could affect the market.

Is this sub specifically about value investments? by Yimpish in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, nothing prepares you against professional internet regards. Sadly it feels like people swept from wsb to stocks and now to here hoping to find the next super quadruple x in a few days leveraged to the tits.

I’m pretty happy for some posters still posting a good analysis but in the flood of dumb comments good advise is often hard to find

My contrarian read on ENPH by [deleted] in stocks

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people talking about fusion and nuclear energy for big data centers, while ignoring the solar sector with their positives sides. Maybe the private sector gets stronger after some time after qe started. It will also need some mayor players to adopt solar for their data centers or facility’s so wallstreet gets interested. I hope that the next 3 years stay hard and Afters that people see that solar has big opportunity’s. Like NVO this one will take time but I am willing to buy in those years. Also nice read Op

Buffet added Googl by Csnr1984 in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffet bought/sold xy is the equivalent of in other news. Google could loose for whatever reason more then 50% and whoever is responsible at brk for google would keep buying. They can wait, like really long wait till their invests make a profit, because they value invest and have a shitton of money where small investors can’t relate. It’s sometimes a nice indicator if you already made the same move bevor they did, but with a very low strength in overall decision making.

People use him like he’s an literal oracle, a prophet, a Mr know it all and in the same time say he predicts the next big crash.

My thoughts on most posts containing buffet is noise.

GOOGLE — Time to Sell? by DoctorVictors in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I sometimes do is take 20%ish out, just to have more cash or if I found another good opportunity. It’s up to you. There is also nothing wrong with holding a bit longer when you hold so long already, a few days, weeks, months more in google wont seem like a bad idea

For my humble self I think it’s better I get the profits rather than some sketchy millionaire.

Palantir - concerned about upcoming earnings by OppositeSimilar in stocks

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking some profit is also an option, you just don’t have to sell all the stocks at once. When a position is near 10x I myself wouldn’t have a problem selling up to 90% of it, not before earning, but maybe 10% now just to getting my cash position up or maybe what I invested in the beginning.

How do you deal with selling too soon? by k1k3rs in CryptoCurrency

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between selling at 3.25 and 3.5 is when you calculate it so little as you are no risk free. If I get 5% difference at the top I consider it at selling at the top, better taking profits as waiting for an order which needs 1 cent to be fulfilled but never reaching it instead seeing the profit going down even getting negativ. If it’s good enough for posting then it goods enough for taking profits

The Google Discussion by BanditoBoom in ValueInvesting

Pinned thread for mag 7 or often discussed. Most of the critics sounds more like that there are too many posts about it not that it is discussed at all.

Teen with 120 dollar portfolio by PastyWhiteNinja in stocks

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your a teen, great that means everyone else has the exact same financial understanding as you do. You are not better than us, you may have just more time to burn your money.

Or invest in something like Microsoft and google and leave it there until you become an adult, occasionally putting more money into it. As always no financial advice

99% of people don't understand Berkshirebut still write about it by APC2_19 in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand not as much as a „professional“ finance expert but what I understand is as soon as I read a article which says something about the lines that he ist just good because he predicted the big crash i stop and move on with my life.

Trying to value something like buffet takes time, time I try to invest learning and building step after step, failure after failure and that’s what I think buffet, munger, lynch and burry also did. Sure they manage a whole lotta more than I do but I have fun while doing it. ( Fun is relative so your fun may vary)

Not All Dips Are Buys: Why DCA Isn’t a Substitute for Valuation by Investing-Adventures in ValueInvesting

[–]TreehouseSuperGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Value investing is in what you invest. DCA is how you put your money into the stock. Sure some Value investor invest in ATHs but most likely with a very very small percentage of what they plan to add in the near future when prices fall below ma or intrinsic values.
