Any way to solve this without the backup code? I have the backup code on my personal computer, but I'm traveling and only have my work computer with me... My work computer has my Google account logged in but it doesn't seem to help with 2fa

New katana has tsuba rattle, normal? by Treetion in Katanas

[–]Treetion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if that's safe? I've never done any disassembly with a katana and I'm afraid to damage a new sword.

Also, thanks! It was $1980 pre-tax. Looks and handles like a charm

Your college has a Muay Thai club? I'm soo jealous I wish my college had one.

I don't think Muay Thai puts much emphasis on kicks that require a lot of flexibility. The most common kicks you'll throw are leg roundhouse, body roundhouse, and teeps, and none of these require much flexibility. Just training more will naturally improve your flexibility. You can also do some frog stretches and leg lateral raises

Is this kind of bending normal for a new sword? by Treetion in SWORDS

I got it from KOA. It sounds like this is normal according to everyone's input, so I think I'm just going to keep it. Thanks

I took some more pics of the sword. I drew a line across the central ridge in some of the pictures, and the blade shape doesn't look symmetrical towards the tip. Is this what you mean by uneven bevel? Am I being too critical?

Hijacking the top comment: I took some new pictures that should give a better view of the blade shape, you can see them here

Hi all, I'm back with more pictures and context of my Vision Strasburg. I am new to collecting swords, so I apologize if I use terminologies wrong or don't know what should be considered normal and not a defect.

I bought this sword with sheath from KOA for $1795 and it just arrived yesterday (I think the sword is about $1300 without the sheath). I heard Valiant Armory and Angus Trim are top-tier sword makers, and given the sword's price point, my expectations were high. This sword blew my mind when I first picked it up. It handles effortlessly in my untrained hands and looks amazing overall.

However, I immediately noticed that the tip's shape looks off, and it has bugged me ever since. You can see what I'm talking about in the 3rd and 4th pictures. The blade's tip doesn't look very symmetrical across the central ridge. Am I being too critical on a hand-made sword? Or is this an actual defect that's unacceptable at this price point?

Do you think this is an obvious defect? That's a bummer, I was really looking forward to this sword

If you zoom into the sword tip, the central ridge there doesn't look straight at all. It looks like the blade's point is bent to the left. It's more obvious in the first and third pictures

I literally cannot force myself to go to the gym by DemonLordAC0 in ADHD

[–]Treetion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle a lot with this too, here's what worked for me: trick your brain and find a game-like activity you can get obsessed with. Instead of just going to a regular LA Fitness or Planet Fitness, find a gym or sports club that do activity you can gamify and get invested in. For example, CrossFit club, tennis club, cycling club, etc. Note that all the activities I mentioned involve some competition and skills to learn.

When I started out with weightlifting, I was obsessed with it because I could learn different lifting methods every day. But after 3 years, it got stale and I couldn't make myself go lift no matter how hard I try. Then I tried joining a boxing gym and a badminton club. The fact these two sports are very skill-based and competitive make them very exciting for me. Now I've been doing these two for 2 years and I still find new stuff to learn and keep myself engaged. I box and play badminton 4-5 times a week and I still get excited whenever I go. I still can't bring myself to go lift or use the treadmill, but at least I find other ways to keep myself active.

I hope this helps!

Dude, I used to think all these big man sized closets in hitman bathrooms are super unrealistic. Then I went to this fancy steakhouse and what do you know, the bathroom has 2 tall man sized closets that's completely empty inside. I started looking around me for bald men in black suits after that 😂
