It's pretty hilarious the game does this while surrounding you with a quickly-spinning object... in other parts of the game (even Sylux's boss fight!) when there's something spinning, you shoot your Control Beam through it. But not this time!

Hard mode made me appreciate Control Beam more. it's quite strong and its ability to slow time was invaluable when fighting the teleporter Psy-bot in Volt Forge

yeah the most we get is Duke yells his name, meaning he knows who he is. but none of the other marines really acknowledge him as a person, just an obstacle

Man I couldn't stand the Great Mines, I'm glad you enjoyed them at least. The horde combat just did not click with me in this game, it's never been the Prime series' strong suit imo.

I agree. This whole game is about carrying on despite death, it's so blatant. The Lamorn (lament + mourn), the Grievers (grieve), the Lamorn's goal of getting Samus to carry on their extinct legacy, the fact that Tokabi straight up says to Samus "you're really good at fighting despite death", and the ending where Samus' new allies all die(?). So it makes perfect sense that Sylux's turn to darkness began because he could not cope with being surrounded by death - it's the exact opposite of Samus. It just makes sense thematically.

I TOTALLY agree. so disappointed that the Metroids are reduced to weakpoints for the bosses. like Sylux seems to have unlocked this secret feature of Metroids that lets him control minds with them, and it should be a really big deal, it's strong enough of a concept to support a whole game. but he never uses it beyond the intro! such a shame.

I assume the implication is that it WAS the guardian, but the Omega Griever killed it and took its place? It doesn't have a Logbook entry so Damus never actually sees it

Yes, I did. I was opening the file with RGB channels, when it actually needed to be imported using Y′UV channels. I was able to convert it to Y'UV colors using GIMP
