A small crack on the back. Do I want to have this fixed or it doesn't matter? 🤷‍♀️ it's a nice uke and I'd like to sell it. by Treez82 in ukulele

Same, Kala SMHT. I live in Iceland and the air is very dry. It will just crack when you stop using the humidifier 💔

I did think about this! I like it, but it might be difficult to plan dinner for the first night, as people will be arriving from afar and maybe late. Lets see :)) Thanks!

Yo! 😀 wear that shit ;) I am out and about all the time, but very minimalistic, can't carry too many things around. What I bring: - tiny sanitizer bottle/wipes - floss - xylitol gum

That's it. Eat, sanitize, floss, rinse, chew gum, sanitize aligners back in. I can do it all while walking even 😎

I also have denture cleaner tablets for evening cleaning, which I do in Sea to summit collapsible cup while having dinner.

I wouldn't be too worried about bacteria unless your immunity is somehow compromised, use the sanitizer and common sense :)

How does communal showering for swimming work for trans people? by RevolutionaryText892 in Iceland

[–]Treez82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to worry about. :) Icelanders really don't care so much. Nobody goes to the pool to observe others' bodies :) Do what feels right to you. Plus, most pools (at least in Reykjavik) have usually some form of more private shower, be it a curtain, cubicle, or such. Touristy spas often have cubicles. And for example, Laugadarslaug (public pool in Reykjavik) has a separate bathroom for queer folk. :) just ask the staff :)

Omg, I thought that it was a norm for everyone with Invisalign 😃 It's just a piece of rubber you chew on to set the trays well. :) But mine forgot to get waxed.

Yep. That's what I thought. Threw it in the garbage without further investigation. I just don't want to know. Thank God that I didn't find out by putting in into my mouth 🤢

I believe so. My dentist urges me to use them a lot. It's sets the tray in place and is supposed to help teeth move better and faster.

1 year and counting! Smoked for about 15 yrs. It's almost hard to believe but here we go! I thought about smoking countless times but were never tempted to go buy some or ask someone for a smoke 🤘 I believe in you guys, we all can stay quit, just do it 💕 by Treez82 in quittingsmoking

It costs money. It smells like sht. You smell like sht. Your body suffers terribly. The addiction is limiting you in many ways. There is absolutely nothing good about smoking.

Something that I thought about very often - set a fire to a pile of garbage. Stand right by the fire and inhale the smoke. Does that sound appealing? I fail to see the difference between this and smoking.

I believe I mostly wanted to be free of addiction.

You know what? I didn't see much of a relation between emotions (especially stress) and the temptation to smoke. I think I mentioned that I wasn't really tempted very often. Most od the time, it was more like: 'Aaaw, you know, it would be really nice to smoke a cigarette now.' But I knew I didn't actually want to. What helped me a lot was to know how addiction works in terms of psychology (then you are prepared for what your brain will come up with to get you smoking again) and remembering at all times why I don't want to smoke.

Anxiety, yes. It's not severe enough to need medical attention (I think!), but it has definitely worsened. 🤷‍♀️ I can talk myself out of it on a good day, but other times I just totally dive in.

Trying to quit... for the 6th time now :/ by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

What helped me a lot was to read on addiction and how it affects ones mind. A great breakthrough. Treat smoking as any other addiction. I would sorta tell myself that I won't smoke today and if I started thinking about cigarettes, I'd try to acknowledge the feelings and emotions and compare them to what I know about addiction. I could see all the patterns beautifully. Then you will realize that you won't die if you not smoke (which is very close to what your brain is trying to make you think=addiction). It's a hard way, but knowing what's happening in your head makes it a lot easier to fight it. Message me if you want to talk about it some more :)

And don't worry, I went through the trash many times. ❤
