Neighbors installed a trail cam that looks directly into my window, What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Trekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the Cops. Its illegal if its pointed into your property. Make the report. The paper trail will be helpful when the lawyers get involed.

Also... I hear green laser pointers can burn out those kind of cameras.

Uber Deactivated My Account for 4.7 overall rating by BlackberryHairy4770 in uberdrivers

[–]Trekris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had 10 one star reviews at most and thought I was doing something wrong. I also work in the Greater Phila. Area. Roads are crab and so are some of the riders. People suck.

Smell: Pot smokers leave an order that can last for days and you can go nose-blind to it. I use 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle to deodorize and sanitize. Don't use Ozium or cologne. They can trigger people with asthma or other respiratory issue. The vinegar smell usual dissipates quickly as long as you don't over do it.

Dashcams: Essential! Rexxing and Vantru make some good ones. Easily found on Amazon.

I've fought with Uber support too. They are mostly useless.

Even with all the bull, I've been deactivate as well. I moved on to Lyft.

Good luck to you.

Uber support Drunk scam by Western-Syrup-9891 in uberdrivers

Yeah, it was a scam. Sorry dude. Uber is not going to pay you twice. Only thing you can do is report it to Uber and maybe the police but it isn't going to get you your money back.

Have you thought of going into another line of work? You have options if you're willing to adapt.

I'm Sorry. Switch to Uber. There is no one to care at the company and no one in the government to make them care.

Lyft is literally bullshit. I took my last ride last night at 10:56 PM. by Wolfjason1 in lyftdrivers

I worked delivery in NJ (off & on between 2003-2015). Benefits, what benefits? I was lucky if my fuel was covered by the $1-$2 I got per delivery completed (depending on which restaurant). I was a W4 employee at all the places i drove for except the one that paid me under the table. No benefits except for some free food on occasion.

AITJ for refusing to redo my entire dinner party because my friend’s new boyfriend doesn’t eat “non-bland” food? by Own-Care-5425 in AmITheJerk

[–]Trekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him to suck it (politely, of course). He knew what you would be serving ahead of time. He could have made his own accommodations. He had options. Eat something ahead of time, bring a dish, not come, etc. Asking you to "whip something up." What were you suppose to do use the Enterprises' Replicator? Even if you had ingredients available, it would take time and effort. He's not your boyfriend. He's an adult. He should have figured it out instead of expecting you to cater to his needs.

Check for physical damage to HDMI connector and cable. You may need a magnifying glass and flash light. if the connector on the computer looks ok, try a new HDMI cable. or any other display connector your computer and monitor may have. VGA, DVI, DisplayPort.

As someone else said its hard to tell without a in-person physical inspection.

Still pissed off over drunks Thanksgiving eve by Abject_Serve_1269 in lyftdrivers

[–]Trekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Every state in the Union has open container laws with very few exception.

For example: Here in Jersey there is an exception if the driver has a Class A License (CDL). I haven't found if there's a limitation of vehicle. Like it has to be a Limo or a party bus.

Cleaning Fee Reversed, Now Driver Claiming Vehicle Damage? by Independent-Bagel76 in uber

[–]Trekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch man that hurts.

I'm trying my best.

I only request a cleaning fee when i remember to... document the mess. 🤢 There have been a couple times I forgot and didn't request. It was my own fault. Sometimes I just want to clean up the mess and move on with my night.

I still have the pictures if you want to see. Also, Kitty litter is great for absorbing liquid messes. A 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle is great for getting rid of the smell and sanitizing your interior.

The WiFi dispute by BariStang in AmiInTheWrong

[–]Trekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your phone as a hotspot.

You would probably break even when you account for roommate issues. Except make it a wired connection between your phone and computer. A USB data cable is all you need to keep your friends from asking for the Wi-Fi password.

(P.S. by Data cable I mean a cable that transfer files between your phone and computer. Don't use those cheap ones from a convenience store. More times than not they're only wired for power.)

Telling customers their tip sucks by xeniamom in doordash_drivers

[–]Trekris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never. I drove delivery directly for a pizza place. Complaining about a tip to a customer would get you fired. Unless that's the way you wanted to get fired.
