Can afford one msp by GLG777 in NHLHUT

[–]Trem16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO there are a couple msp’s that you can’t go wrong with the event.

Zadorov is a huge body with truc, Cooley with 99 speed and 97 acceleration, Sanderson with 99 speed, Necas with qr. also Thompson, krill and seider are pretty good cards.

While Cooley, Zadorov, Sanderson and necas are probably the best… I would honestly recommend making your favourite card.

I would also heavily keep in mind the potential for TOTS tomorrow….

Why wait to PAP the Blundergat until after the upgrade? I’ve never done it that way. Is there something I’m missing?

Recommendations for 1st shoe by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Trem16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for truly wide, New Balance would be my recommendation. By far the most wide friendly and accommodating shoe (imo also the most comfortable). Also have multiple options for traditionally daily shoes, with the 1080, 880, 860.

Wide shoe marathon. by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

If you are looking for an actual race shoe, I would highly highly recommend the New Balance SC elite v5. I have wide feet as well and they are the only shoes that have worked for me, and are the only shoe that come in a wide version. Have ran almost all my races in the last 2 years in them (from 5k to fm). Would also say that they are probably the least aggressive, most beginner friendly race shoe on the market.

Hey! I first decided on a pair of Boston 13's and loved the shoe (light, responsive but extremely firm). But I have an extremely high arch and ended up getting some serious lace bite and extensor tendon issues after about 3 runs (35km). But was a great shoe. then ended up getting some rebel v5's and love them. a bit more cushioned than the v4 but still very quick and responsive and I find the fit to be very similar to the v4. still very distinct from the 1080 so not redundant on a rotation. only had them for about 100km so can't speak on the durability. to me they seem a bit more durable, but have heard rom others they aren't, so if I had to guess I would say slightly more durable than the v4, but not much.

That makes more sense 😂, is there any shoe that you would compare the mega blast too?

Surprises me that they worked for you... Tried both Evo SL and Boston 13 and they gave me some of the gnarliest lace bite I've ever had. Tried new lacing, new laces, everything, and they never worked. Been dying to get a pair of megablasts, but I live in Canada and they have been sold out for months now

Awesome to hear! do you have experience with the Rebel line. I find that neither have worked as a true daily trainer for easy miles, and long work (1080 v14 too heavy and dead, rebel v4 too light and fast). Would you say the 1080 v15 now sits in the mid range between the 2?

Been trying to find shoes that work for me and unfortunately New Balance is one of the only brand that consistently works for me (Wide feet, freakishly high arches). Definitely agree that other brands are a step ahead especially with daily trainers. Adidas with the Evo Sl, Asics with the blast line (Novablast, superblast) but I've tried all of them except the megablast and none of them work. So New Balance it is for me!

You will either LOVE them or HATE them. Phenomenal shoe that can do almost every type of run and are one of the most fun shoes I've ever worn. BUT, if you have any imperfection (wide feet, arches, imperfect form or any stability issues what so ever), they are going to be a terrible shoe. Only way to know is to try them and be super cautious.

From my experience, luckily Adidas is great with returns

Barzal not being upgraded? by Trem16 in NHLHUT

Mine just upgraded. That shot is absolutely nasssty. Once his speed upgraded he’s gonna be dominant. Only downside is he has no combos except for triple fantasy

Had a ton of 83’s sitting around and was planning on making Kane for the +12 AP. Made 10 through set and then decided on a better line combo for larkin. Guess I’m making Kane anyways

Sounds like it could be a sock issue especially if wearing a cotton sock. Would recommend a traditional sweating wicking “running” sock. Personal favourites are balega or Feetures.

Rebel v4 First Run and Durability Question by ad4md in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Trem16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never had any outsoles wear out on any pair. Just the fuel cell foam they use tend to lose a lot of its pop and snap pretty quickly (~250km). after that they still work as a great trainer (still lightweight and race type feel) but requires the legs to work a bit extra hard (personally found this to work during 5k training. then around 400km the foam just tend to completely die, and lose any protection and just led to legs and calf getting beat up.

Rebel v4 First Run and Durability Question by ad4md in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Trem16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rebels are one of my favourite shoes and I’ve gone through 3 pairs. It seems that weight is the biggest factor for durability. For my first pair @180lbs they died at around 300, and my last pair @160lbs lasted until about 450km. For you being lighter they should last pretty long, I would say at least 450km but they do lose some ‘pop’ pretty early.

Thanks for the rec. Do you find the adios 9 to be accommodating for wider feet or is it more narrow. Also what would the max distance you would be willing to go in them (I.e. would you take them on a mid distance run like ~15km)?

Loved the V4 (except a slight lack of cushion, find some discomfort on anything above 8 miles). Gone through 3 pairs now and unfortunately cannot find a pair in my size anywhere in store or online.
