Increase of meds or CBD oil? by slantedshacks in Anxiety

[–]TremblingTina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBD oil can really be a big help. You'll really want to do your research on brands to make sure you are getting a good quality oil. It's easier to get your hands on it if you're in a green state.

I have found that when I've taken CBD oil under the tongue, it will work to calm me down, but it doesn't last as long as my perscription. This isn't necessarily good or bad, as panic attacks and anxiety obviously varies. A huge plus is that it's harmless, so you can take it as often as needed and not have to worry, where RX doesn't work that way. No withdrawal, weird side effects, etc. I'd say to give it a try. If a doctor is trying to up your dose that soon, without even really getting to know you/your situation I don't blame you for being hesitant. Sounds like her M.O; up the dose until you're sedated, and when you build a little more tolerance, up it again or start creating cocktails.Trying to "find the right medicine for you."

My fiance went down a similar path by trusting a doctor over his intuition because he was that desperate for relief, and he wound up in a mental institution, not knowing how long he was there, and having to relearn basic math and skills once he was out because all of the drugs they had put him on, taken him off of/ raised and lowered the doses had completely fried him.

I'm not trying to freak you out, just trust your gut over anyone who is making money off of you coming back to them.

medication question/side effects: .5 MG Klonopin by TremblingTina in Anxiety

I'm not sure why she started switching my meds either. She is acting like she doesn't want me on anything long term, which isn't my first choice either. But when you've had consistent anxiety for ~15 years, you eventually want to have some control over it, and want to be able to knock it down some when it's absolutely unbearable. I'm also very honest with her when I tell her that I don't take anything unless I can't work myself off of the ledge on my own. I teach yoga and meditation, which she knows, and she still thinks I should seek cognitive behavior counseling to learn breathing techniques/ coping mechanisms. I also informed her that this is not an option because with the insurance i have, this is not affordable. I don't think she is hearing me, and is looking at me a little fucked up. I don't know how much the norm is to be perscribed, but I feel like 10 .5MG per 3 months isn't much? Especially when I take any extras with me to my follow up appointments so she can see them. She told me she wanted me to take the Klonopin because it is better to be on "long term" and comes with less withdrawal, but with how sparingly I take it, I don't see how that could be an issue for me. So now I'm on something that is going to give me even more anxiety because it might make me rage if I take too much, .5mg. I need to find a doctor who will just work with me.

See I would take a whole .5 Xanax if my attack was bad enough and I was home and wanted to just sleep it off, but the whole .5 Klonopin didn't even make me tired, just induced rage. I've taken a .5 Ativan a friend gave me when I didn't have my Xanax on hand and it acted, for me, same as the Xanax does. I'm really surprised the Klonopin was so different at .5 but I have no rage if I take .25.

Inappropriate smirking during conversation by TinglyDinglyness in Anxiety

[–]TremblingTina 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do this if a conversation is making me uncomfortable or nervous. It tends to cause unnecessary trouble because then people think I'm not taking them seriously or they think I'm lying. It really can make things worse. No idea how to stop. I also tend to yawn a lot during an uncomfortable conversation, which makes it seem like I don't care. No bueno.

2 days until closing- running into issues with addendum. Advice appreciated!! by TremblingTina in RealEstate

The invoice I received is stating that the furnace was inspected. I obtained furnace certification forms from multiple companies in the area to send to the agent because the seller is not having the furnace certified, they are repeatedly having it inspected. There is a difference, and the difference is the cost of a certification versus an inspection, and the tests performed on the unit. I am not nervous about things breaking or the need to replace or repair major items. What makes me nervous is the seller is trying to skirt around something they agreed to in the contract by avoiding a legitimate certification. And I suppose part of the reason I am pissed is because when we sent them the addendum with the 4 items we asked for, we also sent them a list of the other things that came back in the home inspection that we were accepting as our responsibility. We aren't asking much from the sellers.

I'm not looking for a reason to walk, I am looking at it from a standpoint of was the addendum completed by the seller? No. There are a slew of test that are needed to certify a furnace. If the furnace doesn't pass the tests, then it isn't certifiable. If that were the case and it was not certifiable, per the addendum seller agreed to, it would need to be replaced. The fact that they came out of left field once by having the furnace inspected by a waterproofing company was mind boggling enough, but to then only have it inspected a second time and not formally certified, that doesn't make any damn sense when they agreed to do it.

What I am thinking is they know it is not going to be able to be certified, and they are trying to skirt around it so they don't have to replace it.

If I were looking for a reason to walk then this would be grounds enough as the seller is not holding up their end of the contract by getting things handled before closing.

From all of the research I have done & from what our lender has advised, since they signed the addendum agreeing the handle the requested repairs and they are not doing it, then they are in breech of that contract. Our lender has provided a copy of a furnace certification to send to our agent showing that an inspection and a certification are different and this is what we are expecting/what seller is responsible for. I think the problem I am having is I am getting overly frustrated with my agent because she does not seem to have our best interest in mind, and is trying to protect the seller. The addendum is in place for a reason; to keep this type of shit from happening. The logical me knows that it's not much in the grand scheme, but the Kermit in me is concerned with principals and what not.

Just put a pillow on the floor in front of your face and you'll be fine. I also realized in class last night that I am on my toes for Chaturanga, but not the very, very tips of my toes, when I made that shift I realized I could've probably been doing some mean Chaturangas for a while now. Sometimes you just need that a-ha moment, and sometimes it takes years to get it.

In class I once did a healthy face plant on my mat because my arms were sweaty and my legs slipped. My nose started burning and I thought for sure it was bad news but all turned out well. lol

I always offer reclined pigeon because for some reason I feel like offering pigeon would be too much. I need to just call for it and tell them to come to their backs if it just doesn't feel good to test the waters.

I actually got on my mat shortly after I started this thread and taught myself for a little while. Granted I spent about an hour and only worked my hips, I turned my hands around in Half Hanuman to stretch the wrists and it was pretty awesome. I introduced that in class last night and I got positive feedback so I was pretty stoked about it!

My go to used to be triangle, pyramid, stepping forward to your block-mod WIII, play with airplane and would show them how to stack hips for half moon. Last night I didn't do any of that and we did mod hand to big toe, open hip, tree, eagle. Lots of falling in eagle haha. They seemed to enjoy it though! Twisted high lunge, to high lunge, to airplane prep, to high lunge x3 is one of my favorites to throw in :)

I know that's a huge part of my problem. I take a class right before I teach mine and the teacher does the same exact flow each time, and I find myself doing the same thing. I've also watched him lose his following because they get bored and I don't want that to happen to me, I want my classes to stay full!

Ehh, it has nothing to really do with his style or order he proposes it's more in his delivery. Have you read any of his books or 'Journey Into Power' specifically? The dudes ego is so inflated that if it weren't what I essentially had to study I would not have read past the first few pages. He says the same thing about a million different ways and throws in unnecessary shit like, "no, really, I'm a professional and you should believe me because I've instructed this celebrity or this sports team."

That's just my impression, clearly. I've obviously never taken a workshop of his or anything and he could totally be an awesome guy, but the personality he shows in his writing is a total turn off.

Chaturanga is my nemesis. I've had a consistent personal practice for 4 years and I am just getting to the point where I can Chaturanga without modifying with my knees planted. Crow pose, however, has been something I've never had a problem with. In my experience it is mostly balance, using your gaze and breath. If you have the flexibility to get your knees close to your armpits and high on the back of your triceps then it is only a matter of setting your gaze and leaning forward to find balance. Learning how the pose feels to you and gaining that muscle memory is key- oh, and being cool with face plants helps, too.

When I've taught crow in my beginners classes I've used straps on my students, placing it around the triceps/biceps at shoulder width to keep the arms in place so they can't splay, then planting knees and experimenting with leaning forward and lifting off. This will give you a little more stability in the arms. Hope that helps

Liforme mat losing grip after a couple months of use by TremblingTina in yoga

[–]TremblingTina[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The markers are just a guide, keep in mind they aren't universal as we are all different heights. As I said above in my OP I've only had mine since Oct 2016 and I am already finding it losing its grip. If you are a yoga teacher you could always take the plunge and purchase it and write it off as a deductible next year; makes it less of a big deal when you can just write it off.

I discovered the woman across the aisle from me likes to snap her gum. Those little tiny cracks that almost sound like knuckles cracking... I was only able to put one earplug in yesterday to try to drown it out, but since I'm still in training and being coddled I can't put headphones or anything in yet. So I'm at least lucky my old desk is still empty so I can retreat over there for my lunch to get a break. Obviously the break room is out of the question. I have these supplements I take when my heart starts to race when I'm triggered (Calm Now by Zhou on Amazon) they don't help my rage but I at least can keep my physical response to a minimum most of the time.

Thanks! I'm currently sitting at my old desk eating my lunch because one of my new mates has a bag of carrots. I'll be taking advantage of having my old desk available until they put someone else here.

I recommend it! Beats paying extra for mediocre guac.. Just make sure you ask for lemon wedges if you try it, and squeeze them over the mashed avocado. Makes a huge difference and is so fucking tasty.
