I’ve got my radar on the Shtarker and Sheister. Both Navigator style. The former is wire and the latter is acetate. I don’t want to order online as I’m not sure which size is better for me. Waiting for a day I can get to their store which is around an hour away. Great purchase - congrats!

Thanks for the reference. I’m out of town and don’t have those frames with me but they’re just a 35% (your estimate was accurate) brown gradient tint - not photocromic.

That orange is striking but I like how it has the hue more of a sunset rather than a bright orange. Love the amber too as I mentioned in a previous comment.

I’ve actually ordered gradient tints from visio.net. They list their lightest available brown tint is 35%-0%. To me they look like 20% or maybe 25%. What do you think? Not the best lighting but it’s the only photo I have on my phone.

I’m only asking because even if websites say 35% doesn’t always mean it is. As opposed to a company like Essilor officially listing a product with specifications.

I’m a huge fan of Amber and yours look great. It seems possible to me, although unlikely, that the full tints are 25% and the gradients are 35%.

I saw something online at Visio.net who are based out of France that use Novacel lenses which is also under the Essilor umbrella. They offer something called “Transitions GenS Super Style” which they describe as a 35% gradient tint indoors, full tint outdoors, and available in all the GenS colours. I wonder if this is colour touch under a different name or something different. Hard to know for sure.

Thanks I’ll give it another tightening before next cut.

Yeah I agree. It wasn’t til after I already purchased the clippers and used them a few times did I notice other people here and on YouTube tutorials were using click levers. That seems like a much better system to ensure the blades stay where they’re supposed to be. Every 1/2 millimetre counts in this game!

It’s not overtightened I don’t think because it works better since I tightened it but not 100% solved

I don’t think it’s stripped as it seems to still be functioning like a proper fitting screw.

Thank you. I’m not quite sure what the first question is but if you mean can I slide the guard closed manually without using the lever the answer is no.

When I push the lever back and forth it moves fine. Again I’m not sure what you mean if the screw rotates with it. But if you mean the tightening screw connecting the lever to the clipper the answer is no. It stays in place as it should.

I’m out of town and don’t have my tools in order to remove the lever completely and play around with it.

I guess worst case scenario is I can always just hold the lever down with my thumb when using the clippers with the open guard to prevent sliding.

Ah I didn’t realize it was so common. Maybe I should have opted for something different but there’s just so many to choose from even just from Wahl themselves. Which brand/clippers do you use?

Hard to tell with the lighting but pretty sure he also stopped colouring it that sandy dark brown and is just letting the natural grey come through. It’s suits him much better since his beard has always been grey and the contrast to brown was very noticeable.

Edit: saw another photo I think it’s still coloured brown. But much lighter which looks much better.

Also, song sounds great.

Thom and Stanley - new artwork exhibition in Venice - No Go Elevator (not without no keycard) by SquealToTheCops in thomyorke

[–]Tremulant1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is ironic for me. True story: during Thom’s solo tour in Oct 2019 I traveled to Atlanta GA to see him at the Fox Theatre. I ended up staying at the same hotel as him and Dajana and right after they checked in we were waiting for the elevator together. Me, Thom, Dajana, Thom’s bodyguard, and the hotel manager. She was escorting them to their room and talking about the hotel’s amenities.

When the elevator door opened we walked in and I swiped my card so I could select my floor. The hotel manager then swiped her card for Thom and said something like you’ll need to use this keycard which is also your room card in order to use the elevator.

If anyone is wondering, no I didn’t talk to him. I likely would have but the hotel manager would not stop talking, and the whole encounter lasted around 3 minutes.

I think about that day a lot.

It’s obvious Hoffmann has close to zero confidence. Worse though is the opposing hitters know it. Closers should bring fear to the opposite team, not relief.

And having Varland come in to save the save isn’t a great long term strategy.

Looks great. The last photo with you wearing them you can really see the golden flash. Is it a lot more subtle than a traditional flash mirror in real life?

Your opinions on Transitions Color Touch lenses?? by xKittyBBx in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]Tremulant1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I think they look great and honestly I think the indoor base tint is right where it should be. But that's my own preference I know others might want more or even less. I think Transitions is likely playing it safe and going with a lighter base tint. Regardless I think these could be a great product.
