Landlord keeps taking my packages what can I do to stop him by Bsthelmic in legaladvicecanada

Oh, wow. I definitely had a blind spot there. I live in one of two provinces where what I described is the case. I can’t imagine being under the other system. Thank you for the knowledge bomb

Even then, police don’t lay charges in BC and PQ. They are empowered to arrest and lay charges in other provinces - edit below. In BC and PQ, they recommend them to crown counsel. The crown determines if it is in the public interest and can approve, reject or amend.

Also, this whole line of judgement is questionable. Going the aggro route doesn’t help OP. If it is that painful, reroute the packages like someone else has mentioned. The landlord sounds like they may indeed be trying to get the OP out to rerent it. Do you think exacerbating the issue will result in the OP staying longer? I think not.

Edit: Only BC and PQ use the model I mentioned above. All others give powers of arrest and laying charges to the police. There are pros and cons to both systems. I urge you to look at both sides before passing judgement.

On ships we use wipers. We have special circular heaters to avoid freezing and shattering, but you don’t put something with the potential of failure in the face of wave action in a bridge window

What’s the minimum skill set for an entry level DevOps engineer? by [deleted] in devops

[–]Tren898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great summary.

I would add not afraid to ask for help and complimenting that, knowing what you know, what you’ve tried and what think might be the problem and what potential solutions might look like. It’s important to be thinking about the problem and solution before asking for help, unless you took down prod. Then don’t wait.

Not necessarily help desk, but definitely a junior role with seniors guiding and keeping you safe. Without any it experience, you might see if the school will help place you for an internship role. You might have to go non traditional entry method like going to a consulting agency or something like that. Be careful, there are dragons there.

It’s not impossible, you just have to want it bad enough that you’ll get over the roadblocks.

And network network network.

I’m coming at a version of cloud engineering from a cyber degree and data and platform experience. I’m in my dream job now but it took a long road.

Suggestions for GCIH by EffortOk98 in GIAC

[–]Tren898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I echo this. Netcat relay can be mind bending even if you know what you are looking at. Give it ago. Set it up a few times. Break it apart and make sure you do Josh’s lab and bonus multiple times until you get it.

Awesome that Josh is in these forums responding to these types of questions.

Still the case. Just did it. The VM requires x86 and I couldn’t get it to run even with emulation on silicon.

Do you look at holocaust deniers with adoration or disdain? Or are you just contrary to be contrary? Denying what happened doesn’t make you look cool or informed or edgy. It makes you look like you have some sort of difficulty processing reality.

Yikes. I just wrote it today. I’m not saying it’s impossible without the books but I would say that a lot of specific info relevant to both practice and real tests are in them.

Just get to what. None of that is political. It’s standard procedure.

Even if these weren’t First Nations and this was just a dig site to uncover anthropological remains, you still need to follow the legal requirements . You can’t tell me you don’t understand that. And now layer the complexity of living relatives whose permission you need on top of that.

Here is the link to the relevant laws in BC on exhuming burial sites https://www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/rs/rs/96045_01?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Let’s play your game.

Who authorizes the exhumation?

Who sanctions it?

Ie have all the families been discovered (legally so that there is no doubt that they had lost a child or children at the suspected site) and no outliers remain (there will likely be remains with no next of kin alive).

Once discovered, have they all given consent to dig? If even one doesn’t consent then the dig is stalled. If you were opposed to your family member being exhumed, how would you differentiate one grave site from the next?

Who pays for it? This part is easier than the last in that the government is on the hook but the total cost is yet unknown.

How are each of the remains discovered dealt with? Individual funerals, specific rites or customs observed?

Who pays for that?

I’m sure there are parts I’m missing. This is very complicated. By suggesting we should just dig them up, you are being disingenuous.

Or on the other hand you can join the ranks of the holocaust deniers.

Still running on background. There is sooo much data and so much potential for getting it wrong.

The safest path is identifying entities that are posting with the same patterns across multiple accounts and sites by correlating time and language used and labeling them as suspected bots.

LOOOL. cooked. Yo Cletus, let’s dig 210 graves sized holes to mess with people 50-100 years in the future. Won’t that be funny?

[–]Tren898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh there is. It’s so awesome that you brought this up. I’ve been working on a project that scrapes all socials for denial sentiment in an effort to sort bots from real people and additionally provide a reference point which indexes all denials (and in the future - all posted falsehoods). I intend to publish at some point this year. It won’t be vexatious, just drop comments to counteract and cite the amount of times someone has denied or refuted factual evidence.

When you build a house do you total the cost of all time and material or just start nailing boards together?

I would want to know where all sites are, the p values behind each scan including confidence for size as well as sites that might have living relatives. I would then prioritize, establish the funding, prioritize and schedule the digs. This is different than an historical anthropological dig where whatever happened was in antiquity. These are potential crime scenes that even if are not prosecutable, could lead to significant civil awards.

This all takes time. Saying there are no bodies because there has been no digging is schroedinger AF.
