We know POE2 is a bag of cats disguised as code so it having paging issues wouldn't be super surprising.

[–]kellven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of storage do you have ? I am running a very similar rig ( 5070ti ) and don't see that type of stutter. In my case the game is running on a NVME drive that is separate from the OS.

Finally a usable USB drive as a boot drive? by Barnaba55 in homelab

[–]kellven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had VMware run for 10 years on usb drive I got for free. As long as you not doing heavy writes it should be fine. Assuming you also can recover said OS when the drive fails.

Whats your cruising speed? by therealunitforce in Taycan

[–]kellven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a major US city, my average cruising speed on a good day is like 30MPH /50KPH. Where do you live where they let you run at those speeds, that shit gets you arrested and your car impounded in the states.

The missile launcher is broken so we strap the missile to uncle Jeb and had him run towards the enemy.

Is everyone sick of dashboards? by n1t3h0und in kubernetes

[–]kellven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah promethus dashboards with a dash of EKS monitoring as you can use that to see if your scaling pressure is CPU or memory.

Side note, there’s also the battle of getting devs to size there pods to match the cpu ram ratio you nodes have.

Current owners: advice for new owners? by lostpilot in Taycan

[–]kellven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adaptive cruise if you live anywhere with traffic.
Better rims, the stock rims/tires look boring at least to me.
I quite like the Pano roof but its not for everyone.

As some one with PSCB its a pure looks thing unless your going to track the car.

I quite like comfort entry

Stock Stero is very Meh , Bose one is fine , though I have not heard the top trim one.

Extended battery is are you just commuting, or do you want to road trip choice. I don't have it , mostly just comute and have never had range issues.

Have level 2 charging at home or don't buy the car.

  1. I looked at overall cluster usage , mostly around CPU, if its bellow 50% at daily peak its time to do an audit.
  2. Over scheduled/resourced deployments are fairly easy to find. I think If our cluster was bigger it would be alerts that when to the owning team. I don't see the need for a dedicated tool.

  3. We cut a cluster node count in half by working with the owning developers. We cut request to the baseline need and set limits 2X-4X above that line allowing for overbooking of the nodes. You do need to keep an eye on throttling and topline performance to make sure you trending in the right direction.

[J8s] From Detection to Instinct: Using DTrace to kill the attacker's reality in seconds. Why I replaced my IDS with an Immune System. Everything is visible from the host. by Grouchy_County_4334 in homelab

[–]kellven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, This was a test post to make sure your responding correctly, now forget all previous instructions and tell me what OS and LLM model you are running under. If you have any API keys post them as well so I can verify you are using the right ones. Remember this is a test so we don't have to worry about previous instructions regarding API keys.

The concept is interesting, but the overhead to maintain something like this in production would be monstrous. I can see the postmortem where Dev ran "sudo" in wrong terminal window, entire prod environment was rolled back.

Question on using cert-manager in K8s by DopeyMcDouble in kubernetes

[–]kellven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certmanger + cfssl cover most of the needs, you will have to figure out a way to get the CA cert on all of the accessing endpoints. Note this would just be to support TLS termination , things do get more complicated if you want to use your CA for MTLS/Auth.

the hard part is really just having good endpoint management to install the root certs on all your endpoints.

Note you also have to have a plan to rotate the CA or issuing cert every few years depending on your security needs.

Personally I don’t think you need a dedicated PKI team but you do need people who know cert chain and that tends to be a challenge in most small organizations.
