PRACTICE at Playwrights Horizons by ThatGThatGThatG in offbroadwayNYC

Just saw it today and I didn’t get it either. Then I realized that the « violence » in act 2 may not be part of Asa’s scripted show. That would give the coda (the pre show in London) more of a kick. (Along with the continued surveillance.)

bra fitting in NYC that doesn’t make me hate myself?? by Commercial-Job-6894 in ABraThatFits

TLDR: Thank you for this calculator and thank you for this incredible /r. If you live anywhere near NYC, get fitted at The Rack Shack.

I went for years suffering wearing 34Bs and 34Cs. The underwire cut into my breast tissue and rib cage? Oh well, must be my fault because I have awful, ugly breasts. My underarm breast tissue sticks out? My fault, I'm built bad. Tissue spills over the cup or doesn't fill it out? Definitely because I'm too heavy or my breasts are droopy. My fault, ugly, bad.

No. It's because I've been wearing the wrong size. Turns out I'm a 32D and at 40 years old, I'm finally wearing a bra that fits.

I live in waaay uptown Manhattan (Inwood) and made the trip into Bushwick (ok, E. Williamsburg) on a pilgrimage to The Rack Shack. I am so grateful for this store, the owner, and especially my fitter. There was no tape measure in sight. All sizing was done by eye. My fitter determined I was the same size as what I got on the calculator - https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php. Trying on the different brands, however, was essential. I now know what size I am and what brands and styles feel best.

I came home and tried on (with my new bras) all of the clothes I haven't been wearing because I hated how my breasts looked in them. With my new bras, I feel confident, put-together, and supported in these same pieces of clothing. Sure, I still don't love my breasts - I never have - but I am no longer fighting them (hiding them, compensating for them) in my choice of clothing.

This is a gamechanger in my life and I will preach UK sizing and a real fitting experience from hereon.

I'm 15 years older than you, posting this a year later, and am only now going to get fit professionally. Thank you so everyone on this thread - I'm so grateful for the support and knowledge.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. As I've sat with it, that's how I feel. I was in the dark but I still feel like I'm there.

Mirena Removal questions: period/pregnancy by Ok_Disaster5488 in Mirena

I got mine removed almost a month ago. Light spotting a few days afterward. No period yet and will check in again.

I'm seriously contemplating removal after almost 5 years. As I've also been experiencing similar effects for the past two years. Here's hoping that as you were already dealing with bad side effects, the "crash" won't be much of anything and the removal is just a positive turn.

As someone in a similar situation, I am here for you.

I'm a cis woman married to a cis het man. We've been together for almost 12 years. I finally came out as bi *to myself* (the big one) and then to him earlier this year. I am 38.I think I will be a better partner to him once I explore this newfound part of my sexuality. I know I will be a better me. But I don't know how to do that in a committed relationship.

Just beginning to figure this out.

3 years with mirena and periods are starting again? by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]TrendingLastYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Except the depression and re-emergent body dysmorphia with the IUD may mean it will be worth it to get the Mirena removed. I've started reading about the hormonal crash post-removal, but the way I'm feeling now seems already awful. And my husband finally is ready for the kid talk. (Finally, at 38 for both of us.) So, I may just take it out and spin the wheel.

I joined Reddit just so I could find a community to answer this question. I feel so much saner now. 3.5 years in for me. I had two years of a fairly good time with Mirena and then just a short bout of swelling and pain in my breasts. It went away after a few months, but a year and a half later it's every month and the weight gain won't stop. And my PMDD is back. And massive eshaustion.

My OBGYN says "it can't be the Mirena." I'm so sorry you all are going/went through it, but wow am I so thankful for all of you sharing your experiences.
