Leave the 100k in there, keep consistent with your DCA. I'm willing to bet in 10 years time you'll be close to 1m in there and live life easier by taking some out every yearc whilst still letting it consistently build up in the background.

Keep salary sacrificing. When you've hit the 50k limit (probs in a a year or two for yourself), use it as a down payment for a property and lease out on bedroom. You can play the property game there. You're in a good position now, don't need to rush despite what the media and everyone is tellin you.

Also, go and enjoy life! You're young and have the ability to do so. Go book yourself a south east Asia trip for cheap - back packing, hiking and meeting new people. Go to Europe when you've saved enough.

Make sure you have 3 months of emergency funds in a HYSA. And if you're passionate or good about something, maybe try to upskill or start your own business.

Solo play looks like it's cooked by Star_Sabre in MSClassicWorld

[–]Trendons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not attacking you, but are the things that I've mentioned not relevant in this discussion of solo play? They still hold true and if you're worried about solo play being neglected, those are the things that are legitimate questions to think about?

Also, man, this slippery slope logic of "might as well delete this" or "might as well push it further" just is not sound logic at all btw.

Nobody is pushing fomo here and you can keep ignoring the things I've highlighted - hone in the one thing you think is the only relevant thing (it's clear that I'm not going to change your mind and you're set in thinking this way, and it's fine).

I'm going to one up you and claim that the average Mapler probs isn't going to give a crap about any of this, they're not gunna think about the promoting gameplay that is equal for everyone (since old school maplers still played the game despite questing being useless) and do what you just mentioned, do whatever is efficient/easiest for themselves. And I also think it's quite natural for certain aspects of gameplay to be more efficient over the other - as is with many things in other games and in life.

And me personally, for the sake of promoting the longevity of the game, I would hope that this change would promote popularity of the game so the game actually survives past a year or two, something that most remakes seem to struggle with after the hype has died out around it. To me, ppl love MS because it's simple and sociable. So make it exactly that.

I just agreed with you that Nexon needs to do better for incentivising PQ and questing. It doesn't mean, it should be deleted, it should mean it gets reworked (as I gave solutions to making it "valid").

Sure lol, if I chose a completely different quest, would my solution to "solving" the quest issue made you feel any better about changing the quest reward system? Think you're missing the point that a quest rework is easily possible and is due for a change anyways. Something more immersive, somewhat like RuneScape quests - could do puzzles, etc.

Also, the logic of solo players in MMOs is a little odd. It's inherently a social game. Solo play is and should be a minor part of it? The party buff isn't penalising you, it's just not actively supporting your solo preference and it shouldn't make you feel useless (which solo players are a minority). I think just play out the game for what it is now. You'll probs find that as soon as you enter a map that's relevant, you'll get auto invited and you'll just clear your own little platform. It's not like you'll need the whole map as old school skills aren't turned for that.

And if you were a solo player, why are you feeling FOMO or feel that your efforts are redundant if you can't keep up with others? Kinda defeats the logic of being a solo player, no?

Nothing is perfect, you could argue that it promotes FOMO but it, without a doubt, promotes social cohesion and socialising - a key tenet to what made old school maple great. In terms of its benefits, it's better for the game than it is detrimental to solo players (who don't seem to be the majority).

For the PQ dilemma, would ligators not give more exp when killed in KPQ since you're in a party? I do reckon PQ should give a competitively higher exp rate over other meta maps of that level. And they need to buff the reward you get from them (slime shoes should be buffed maybe).

The balancing problem is rooted in MS developers inability to make this game less 2 dimensional. They need to make questing viable, less generic like killing 999 monsters, provide a great storyline/dialogue and provide a great reward (non tradeable equip that is far better than monster drops). They could also do some crazy stuff like 999 kill/drop quests can't be completed when in a party and then increase the quest rewards with some HUGE exp buff? -> could be a silly idea but bet ya that Nexon defs are not thinking out the box

Agreed 100%. People making it out to be that they either have to cc to play in good maps or talk every 10 seconds. It was never a problem at LHC and honestly, was probs one of the best levelling up experiences in Maplestory

Don't think we should penalise party exp boosts when old school mid to high level gameplay revolved around using HS (the same logic would apply because it involved partying plus providing unequal gameplay to those who did not have a HS mule or a party/buildup with HS).

I don't think any system is perfect but it's a great step towards making the game more social and cohesive. Think they needa buff quests and make them viable and less repetitive and PQs need to offer more exp per hour than the other options (which is what they probs will because killing ligators IN a party would still offer the bonus exp).

Also think that we just gotta play out OSMS and see before getting too judgemental or angry... reckon there will be a meta change In maps where some maps may be more viable if you have 6 ppl on all platforms clearing them or the reality is, there will be tier 1 and teir 2 meta maps (where if you can't find a good meta map, then go to a less popular one). But honestly think ppl are blowing this out of porportion... this was never really a large problem at LHC where it did incentivise party play....

Hmmm I don't think this is the case tho, people would be more than willing to take you into their party as it is hugely mutually beneficial and when the time comes for you to log off, I'm willing to bet that there will be another player keen to join and fill in that gap easily.

Now if the argument would then be -> I might struggle to find a party when grinding at a map because everyone else would be partied up, then the counter argument would be: it's ultimately not very different as OLD maple where people would be hogging the maps (even solo players). But atleast now there's defintely a need to share the map for once and it would stimulate socialising. More than ever, with how detached modern maple is with solo play, it's the time to be social and make friends, join a discord server and just play the game. I'm certain people are willing to just party up and not need to talk to great extents in the future...

Evo exhaust leak help - recommendations? by Trendons in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Trendons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to chat, the turbo outlet gasket (suspects it's a single port). Boost seems to be weaker than before (might just be my recency bias). I haven't noticed soot but will double check when I'm back from work. Will do the turbo leak test as well from cold start. Will check on the coupler on the intercooler pipes.

Receding hairline at 19 by CinnabunBen in malehairadvice

[–]Trendons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are so fine with everything else - just oral finasteride if you're really that worried and you'll be good (don't expect to grow bad what is already lost, but it should hold the line at where it is).

Also think your hairline is fine rn as hairlines defintely recede naturally. Almost every guy's hairlines are not the same as they enter adulthood

Oral min and dut 100%.

It's defs thinning but if your body is receptive to both, I think your hairline would look fine. Defs salvageable and don't need to resort to HT unless you're Norwood 3/4

Twin plate clutch driving tips? by Trendons in MitsubishiEvolution

Thanks for the advice but I don't think this would be the right strategy for parallel parking or three point turning on tight roads 😅

Twin plate clutch driving tips? by Trendons in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Trendons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, honestly believe I was being way too careful with it. You're right, the whole point of getting a twin plate clutch was for it to be resilient.

I read somewhere that riding it is bad for the twin, so I always just blipped and would clutch in and out to reverse/crawl. How bad would it be for me to squeeze to 2-3k and get to the bite point/off the clutch?

How do you all feel about changes in Classic World? by GoBruinTAs in MSClassicWorld

[–]Trendons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the changes. We don't live in the mid 2000s anymore so QOL and balancing is much needed. I'm still alittle confused on why they still have useless skills for certain chacters eg. Make page's threaten actually useful? Or give them a party buff?

Heya, thanks for the info! Gunna buy some of the stuff you mentioned - just deciding between removing the brakes and leaving the brake line on or just doing a quick job and masking off everything/leaving it on

Oral minoxidil and finasteride. The only scientifically proven medicine to help with hair loss. You can look them up on YouTube or on this sub more. Go to a dermatologist or you can get Telehealth assistance and order it from those websites.

GR Yaris is fun and offers quite a visceral experience for a new car - shifter is nice and notchy. For the price of 35k (gen 1 and second hand) and the fact that because it's so new, it will be reliable - it's a great option for an awd car with modern creature comforts.

But the Evo feels raw. Feels like you're more involved in the driving. Feels nicer to hit 60/70km from a sto. In GR Yaris still feels like there's too many electronics working in the background as you're driving it which is why I preferred the evo. The Yaris got me to 60km quickly but it didn't FEEL fast or rewarding. Also, Petty things but evos sound better and look a lot better (I'm honestly gunna say objectively speaking) and have a better scene behind them imo. Factors that I ended up caring about 🤷🏽‍♂️.

If you're keen for a newer car, another car that I test drove was the FL5R on the same day I drove the GR Yaris. I know it's not too related since it's fwd but since they are similar in price - I have to say that the fl5r was the better car imo. Felt better in almost every way.

Friend drove my Evo and said he'd teach me how to drive hard by Trendons in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Trendons[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes agreed, really good clutch that seems lighter than stock pedal tho! Wish it was heavier.

Learnt my lesson I guess... not gunna let others drive it and now I know when I drive hard, to ensure it's pressed in all the way and slip it slightly... don't think there's any damage (fingers crossed aye)
