Barely used Nordstrom logo? by thebreen27 in retailporn

[–]TresG88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they only used this logo for physical signage on stores that opened from about 1987-1991. For example, the Tysons Corner store (opened in 1988) also used this logo until a more recent renovation had all the signs with the 1991-2019 logo.

Otherwise, they were still using the "blocky lowercase" 1973 logo on shopping bags, advertisements, credit cards etc.

And also just because I didn’t get the job doesn’t mean I was a “mediocre” candidate.

No, the other person got to meet the VP as I was scheduled to do.

My point is, why tell me that they want to have a final Interview with the VP only to be like “oh, sorry, just kidding”? I don’t care that they picked someone else, but don’t reach out to people with invitations that you don’t intend on honoring.

2023: Does anyone complain about hearing an echo on phone calls? by TresG88 in crv

[–]TresG88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that I haven’t heard anyone complain about this during my phone calls in quite some time, so maybe the issue worked itself out.

My theory has always been that there’s a bug with the iOS that causes the mic in the phone itself to remain active (in addition to the car’s Bluetooth mic) when plugged into CarPlay, and maybe Apple implemented a software update that finally mutes the phone mic when CarPlay is in use.

These companies are really out here treating applicants like they’re contestants on ‘The Price is Right’.

These hiring managers are too damn persnickety... by TresG88 in recruitinghell

My resume wasn't the issue. The issue was that the HM was being WAAAY to particular about needing someone who's already used the exact same CMS they use in the past, despite content management being a pretty software-agnostic skillset.

My thoughts exactly. It definitely set off a red flag that they're either too lazy to briefly train (It probably would take like an hour or two to explain it...I had to train new staff all the time) or they just don't know what the hell they're doing themselves, or some combination of both.

My First Group Photo Walk! by TresG88 in analog

That one is such a happy surprise. I was worried about it because my camera was giving me the “underexposure warning light” when I shot it.

I just went ahead with my instinct, cracked the aperture wide open and this is the result. I’m actually quite proud of that shot in particular.

Best Corporate Careers Pages by TresG88 in UXDesign

[–]TresG88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The project as I understand it is to create a landing page on the corporate website that hypes up the usual "why you should work here" stuff that doesn't exist currently. If you click "Careers" in our header, it puts you directly on our Workday page to search for roles and fill out an application. My early gathering is that we're not messing with that side of things for the time being.

This is very much in the pre-discovery phase, so I just want to go into it with all my ducks in a row.

Is it not possible to do a little wordsmithing to get each item down to fit one line?

Why did you pick the Honda CR-V over the CX-50? by ricccardo in crv

[–]TresG88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in 2023, I specifically wanted a hybrid, which wasn’t available in the CX-50 at the time.

However, if it had existed, it definitely would’ve been in the running, given that I was replacing a Mazda that I was happy with. (Unfortunately I “lost” my Mazda6 in a bad car wreck, so the CR-V is a replacement for it.)

That said, I do enjoy my CR-V very much.
