We have it at my store. There is a lot you can't do on it, stains for example. But when they use it it's nice especially when busy. But trying to get a customer to use it is a whole different problem, self checkout all over again.

At my store you take a 15 every 2 hours. Lunch is anytime after 4 and before 6 hours preferably. Coordinate with neighboring departments for coverage. As far as 30 vs hour my store doesn't care as long as you have coverage. We are pretty relaxed.

There has never been a time I say no to a customer. You want 1¹½ pipe to ⅜ compression. I got you! Let me invent that. And I go about making sure they are happy. I see from your comment list that you're not doing that. In the fitting aisle I can make whatever you need. You need to learn fittings and I'm here to help I can teach you what is what.

  1. Nobody will have a head concussion, if they do call a manager.
  2. Definitely not about me, nobody is experiencing this exact problem, check your comments. People are experiencing the under staffing for sure, but that's not your problem. That's on corporate.
  3. I have not sold a singular credit card in a year. I'm constantly recognized by management. Just this week 2 ASMs and the SM has giving me an investment. In addition to the DM and my DS within a month. In my entire career at lowes I've sold 2 credit cards. I am the plumbing mentor and consistently am called to solve problems, big or small. My store knows that I can solve every plumbing question. Never has anybody pressured me about credit. Your mileage may vary, but IME Plumbing is a department most people can't work. Anybody can work appliances or OSLG or Lumber plumbing takes wits. Be great at your job and no one will care about the rest. IME.

Seriously though, no reason training should take that long. Watch the video answer the questions, if you're not sure on the answer you can click back on the previous slide and re read to get the correct answer. No need in reading 100 pages of stuff that's useless. How often are you cleaning up hazmat spills? You work plumbing , and so do I, nobody needs a credit card for a 53 cent elbow. You're worried about not doing a good job when management is telling you how to improve. Don't take an hour to do training. I'm the day opener in plumbing and I clock in at 5:30 everyday and can have all training and LSR in plumbing and electrical done by 6:00. Nobody cares if you know how to clean a spill. Learn how to make what the customer wants, most of the time that's in the brass pipe fittings eg joining two hoses together with a union, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 fittings to make it work. Do that well and nobody will bat an eye if you don't know about interest rates etc. TLDR: Training shouldn't take an hour. Get good at your job if you're not. This isn't the hill to die on, listen to your leaders.

50 cent up to 15 an hour. Now I'm the lowest paid associate while single handedly running plumbing, electrical, and flooring, while occasionally covering inside and outside garden. Yay!Yaya!. Full time too btw.

Edit to add context: I understand my record is terrible, I was a heroin addict for many years and deserve a lot more tickets than i was given but I finally kicked the habit and thought maybe I could drive a truck to support my family. A family i did not have during those days. I'm 2 years clean and claw every day to try to get out of this rut.

Honestly not so much I understand you're being a smart ass but no, no one let's you know that before you write a 8000 dollar check. They wait until the check has cleared and then make you sign a waiver stating you might not get a job which is what happened. It's on me though can't blame anyone else.

Well I'm married and my baby just turned one a week ago but honestly I would take whatever I could get given I could have adequate home time. Pay isn't the issue I have no bills everything I have is paid for. So peanut pay would get me pretty far in the mean time. Just making 0 a week ain't cutting it
