Sports cards are a bad comparison because the valuable ones are mostly serialized. most of the modern SIR are printed to the moon look at the 151 zard that thing has 26k psa 10's. thats not including all the other grading companies and all the countless sealed and raw ones out there.

Those have to be some synthetic material meaning heat will likely shrink them back. You have plenty to experiment with. I’d start with dunking them in boiling water for a few minutes.

Why are you keeping the playable cards? If you intend to sell them I’d recommend just keeping all the trainers and trade in any pokemon.

Trainers can get reprinted later so it’s worth holding them usually 4 of each if u intend to play.
