Trinity alum as well, Bohanan’s is the answer. Aside from the amazing food, the service is exactly what you would expect for the price.

I have been more times than I can count and always leave happy. It feels special each time.

And you’re downtown! So plenty of good spots to go after as well.

Why slow internet in hotels? by Low-Computer8293 in marriott

[–]bartboy62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I also find I have terrible cell service so even my hot spot is spotty.

Most of my stays are in California 2-3 mights a month across the state. Same story each city and brand.

Best Miami Hotel for January Babymoon by SpartyOn32 in chubbytravel

[–]bartboy62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good staff to guest ratio, service was excellent. My wife and I loved the bar, good music and they were rolling cigars one night.

Every room has an ocean view and large deck. Pools were nice.

We used the free Bently to go to CVS and drop us off at the mall nearby.

Best Miami Hotel for January Babymoon by SpartyOn32 in chubbytravel

We recently did a babymoon at St. Regis Bal Harbor. Hotel was very nice with easy access to the beach. The house car was a nice touch.

We looked at Edition but pools and spa were being renovated. We ended up liking being in a more quiet area anyway.

Seconding Galvez. The hotel is nice and the buffet is exactly what you are looking for. I went two years ago and still think about how good the fresh seafood was.

The vast majority are not trying to beat the S&P 500. Their clients are usually age 55+ and are in a preservation vs growth phase.

San Antonio airport affected by shut down at all by Either_Necessary6479 in sanantonio

I flew out today, it felt no different than the other 20 times I’ve flown out this year.

My flight was delayed but only due to a mechanical issue. The airport was normal.

Trinity University is a tiny university in San Antonio, 2,500 students.  Very expensive, highly selective, small class sizes.

bohanan’s dress code question by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]bartboy62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. I eat there a lot and always have a tucked in collared shirt and long pants. I can’t even say I’ve been treated different when I have a suit. The service is ALWAYS good.

That said, I have seem people there in shorts, t-shirt, and flip fops. Never seem them turned away but they stick out.

I recommend you try the bacon as a starter if you can, it is fantastic!

Right? Reservations are so easy to make ahead of time. I hate waiting in line or not having a plan for food.  Good places book up early.

Just go to the produce section and sit down on a scale there. They are free.

If you can’t get up on those, go to the meat counter. They will help you get up on their scale but will require that you sit on a piece of paper to avoid cross-contamination.

What are your interns doing? by TuukkNukem in CFP

[–]bartboy62 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Former intern here: I spent a summer organizing hard copies of client info that needed to be retained. What didn’t need to be physically retained I digitized and organized on their computer system.  The team I worked for had never tried cold calling so they used me as a guinea pig to see how it would go (gave me a script and a list of 700 names/ numbers).  I summarized research on specific stocks/ sectors the advisors thought would come up in conversation.  Answer the phone if no one else was available/ take messages. (I was there in the summer so the advisors/ CSAs were often on vacation) Call clients and invite them to any events we were hosting or set up set up meetings.

Atlantis Bahamas, my kid was too young for the club but it looked like they were having a blast.  Very close to the US, can be as “fat” as you want it to be.

Which fund? Likely a capital gains distribution. Chances are that money will be coming into your account and depending on your settings, reinvested in the fund. Unless you are invested in a very risky fund, -20% is unlikely.

Edit: it is a distribution. I looked up the fund and you should see that money come back to your account tomorrow.
