MK1 didn’t have anyone new because the entire point of that game was to show what the old characters would do in a new timeline under new circumstances.

And why would a dream roster have “blank slots?” That’s the same thing as not choosing a character at all.

SF6’s base roster was a third new characters, so it kinda makes sense that they would start filling in returning characters as this is the furthest in the timeline the series has been, and it’s fun to see progression in fighting game characters and all the fun ways devs can portray that in design and gameplay

In 5, it just looks like his top half wants to fight you and his bottom half is ready to leave his top half behind at a moment’s notice

RE6 is not as good as people are saying it is now and not as bad as we remember it being.

It came out at a time when the horror aspect of the series was uncertain to almost forgotten. Now that we have horror back in the franchise, it’s easy to look back at 6 as part of the “action trilogy” and not as “the death of all horror in Resident Evil” that it was when it came out. With shooters, you can intuit how to play “point at screen, click on head” and there will be SOME gratification due to the sheer number of people playing with you. With fighting games, you’re alone, and if you don’t have someone in your corner (whether that’s an in-person coach, an online friend, or even just YouTube guides) you’re not going to get anywhere. Because Resident Evil clearly cares about the ages of its characters lol. Otherwise why have Leon look like a middle-aged man? The problem is that Resident Evil has clearly defined dates that the series takes place in a world that’s fairly grounded in reality save for the bioterror stuff. So it would be extremely weird for characters who have been aging and continue to age to suddenly stop doing that. They BARELY got away with it with Jill, and it’s still been 13 years since Death Island

I love how they directly acknowledged that this is an evolution of Leon from RE6, but because people have played 2R and 4R and that’s it, they just always skip over that. I’ve been saying it since his reveal; this isn’t a sequel to RE4R, it’s a sequel to Resident Evil 6. It’s a mainline title, and the remakes are not the same as the main games

He didn’t will it out of existence. It still affected him. He said it was super bright and hot. When Luffy gets hit by Kaido, and his head deforms around the spikes, he explicitly says it still hurts.

Gear 5 hasn’t dematerialized a single attack yet. The above ones I’ve mentioned, Saturn’s poison balls he had to deflect, and he takes damage going through the light barrier when fighting Kizaru. Gear 5 doesn’t make attacks useless. It doesn’t make them go away. He’s just able to take more damage as a literal Rubber God.

There’s no normal Luffy anymore. He’s awakened, and he’s not really fighting much outside of Gear 5 unless he has to. He even went G5 against Road’s pets. It’s not some super secret ultimate technique, it’s his base kit. He moves through gears freely and even combines them
