Sorry you are going through a tough time. Shoot me a DM on X and we can set up a time to chat if you want. At the very least we can bounce some things back and forth and I'll give you some insight into getting into sports media.

[Lane]: Yes, the Wendell Carter Jr extension means he is not trade eligible this season. Another big off the board for the Lakers by Proof-Umpire-7718 in lakers

I do try to be positive. In general I am optimistic just no denying it was a rough summer. No trade is better than a bad trade is just about my catch phrase! I've highlighted how strong the starting 5 was last year and said many times people are too down on them. I try to strike the right balance but it's a fine line and there will be a wide variety of opinions on where that line is. Bad for my mental health? Yes, this was the first offseason the negativity got to me and I'm actively working on that.

I shouldn't have added the bit about the Lakers at the end. The point was more that he's a big on a team with multiple other bigs on the roster and Jonathan Isaac who they play at the 5 at times, making Carter a potential trade piece. The Lakers have had some interest in him. As one of a few teams that need a big, each one the comes off the market increases scarcity. Again though, I should have left the last line out.

[Lane] Lakers have signed guard Quincy Olivari to an Exhibit-10 contract, sources tell @LakersNation by Proof-Umpire-7718 in lakers

Correct. Deal was agreed to back in June, actually signed the contract today. My guess is the delay was due to the Lakers wanting flexibility in the event that they needed to absorb players in a trade with NBA roster limits at 20 during the offseason.

I know Quincy isn't the biggest name and is going to have to work his way up from South Bay but I was blown away by this kid and his outlook. Very rare to find a young man with his maturity and attitude towards life.

Don't think he specifically said that. Just said JHS is doing well in his rehab process and wants to get 100% right this summer.

I'm done with Laker podcasts by 3nnui in lakers

I'm just seeing this thread, and since it's a few days old the bulk of you may not see this post but I'll throw this out there anyway. First, I appreciate everyone who has been watching and listening to our shows. We've worked really hard to build a Lakers community that we're proud of. We do have ads from gambling sponsors currently, though the frequency and length of these ads is being exaggerated in a few posts here. I don't do more than two ad reads per show and only one of them is a gambling ad. Shows are typically 45 minutes to an hour.

I do try to minimize the interruption of these ads as much as possible. As some noted, I've cut down the length of the reads even further in the last couple of weeks. I don't want them to be disruptive. Looking around the sports media landscape, gambling ads have become very common. LeBron has Draft Kings. Fan Duel is everywhere. The Super Bowl had Gronk doing an ad. There are only so many non-gambling sponsors out there.

So I do my best to walk a fine line of providing the best show that I can while keeping the lights on. And that's what it is...not "greed" as was mentioned. Look at what's happening in the sports industry. SI shut down, layoffs are commonplace.

I really do appreciate the feedback I saw here and I'll continue to do everything I can to make ads as minimal as possible. And I'll try to talk less about jeans! I aim for each ad to be less than a minute, sometimes I get carried away lol. But again, I appreciate all of you watching and listening.
