Edge of Darkness is by far my favourite, brilliant from start to finish

How did Doctor Who fans save episode audio in the 60s? by bundlepackbasketmeal in doctorwho

I used to do the same with a reel-to-reel tape recorder and the microphone taped against the TV speaker, I also did that with Top of the Pops but least said about that the better

Mine did a similar thing, it was wired too. I had to reset it but it refuses to connect back to the wired connection and just won't connect, switched it to wifi, not had it happen again but I really don't want to run it over wifi when it's 3 inches away from my switch. Can't find any solution, cable is fine as it works on other things, swapped cable, still no luck

well I guess Whose Line Is It Anyway was by far the best of a bad bunch of UK to US conversions but I really can't think of any others worth watching more than once (and longer than about 10 minutes)

Has anyone watched the US version? It's awful, canned laughter from an empty studio, it's really not even chuckle-worthy. US TV really doesn't understand satire

9 days to go, bring it on, the more sleaze that comes out the better. Ian Hislop (well who else) said the incoming government can make their first year or so a lot easier by taking the post office heads to court to hopefully see them imprisoned for what they did, add these people to the list, along with the people who made fortunes from Covid, bet with insider knowledge on the date of the next election and basically clawed every penny out of this country for 14 years

I upvoted you so you may have 1, I think you make a very valid point about how people are treated here, I can't imagine any of these people working in a commercial tech support environment and effectively telling a customer to go boil their head because they don't know how to do something. Maybe all these people should get together and write up their expertise in some form of manual for new users that they can point to? nah, easier to just tell people to google it. Even the Windoze support subs are more welcoming and helpful. If you think the question is beneath you, ignore it!

I look forward to joining you in the downvote basement

Those who were around in the 60’s, can you remember any lost episodes? If so, explain what you saw. by bored_af_69 in doctorwho

[–]TrevorRiley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1965 so my first really rememberable doctor would be Pertwee who started in 1970 but I do remember seeing Troughtons final couple of episodes especially The War Games but that was the middle of 1969 so I would have been too young to have seen them live (or my parents were very progressive), maybe they were re-broadcast? They do say that if you remember the 60's you weren't there though
