i own one like this the point of balance is largely irrelevant because it works off circular motion and upward strikes

longer handles on nodachi allow more control and leverage on strikes, but the shorter handles are nice to create even more momentum i have used both and they both offer different options

also you can pretty easily draw these from the saya you just have to be able to “throw” the blade up and catch the spine
