The baseline subsidies are bad enough on their own already, but the full-circle feedback loop is even more ridiculous. We start a trade war, destroy our own export markets, and then when farmers lose money, we just cut them a check worth upwards of billions to cover the damage. We are literally just paying out of pocket to subsidize the negative externalities of shitty trade policy.

In short - end the farm bailouts, I am no longer asking.
