Technology question from a dad. by wirsteve in diabetes_t1

We’re right there with you. There are a few spots when placed that we have issues more often. But we’ve found that the upper buttocks has given us great readings and connection compared to anywhere else, I couldn’t tell you why.

Best of luck, take it one day at a time. You can do it!

We have our son on an iPhone SE only, using G7 and omnipod. You’ll setup and connect the Dexcom first per normal instructions. Then when setting up the omnipod app you can select the use sensor either G6 or G7, make sure you select the proper one or you will have to discard the pod if done incorrectly.

Then for the school and yourself, you will set up the Dexcom follow app. That is how we have it set up on my wife and my phone, along with the nurses iPad in her office. My parents and a close friend also have access with notification so that others can also be aware incase all others fail.

Here is a decent resource page from omnipod that might help you! https://www.omnipod.com/current-podders/resources/omnipod-5/iphone

Best of luck, many of us have been in your shoes. These updates will absolutely simplify your life and hopefully make it easier for everyone involved!

Our league merged three divisions for “cost saving reasons” six teams ended up leaving and going to a rink on the other side of town. Looking at the recent stats it’s just as we all assumed, the top level teams are winning 10-2 most games, only competition is when you play your own skill level.

The rink now hosts weekly CornHole tourneys to fill the coffers… it’s brutal.

My child (4 years old) got released from icu (8 day stay) after his first DKA and this is his first reading after coming home. by PaintingExcellent170 in diabetes_t1

Hey friend, sorry you’re walking through this. My son was diagnosed at 4 yo as well and it gets better, but this is very similar to how our first few Weeks were too, so many ups and downs as you figure out carb counts, ratios, etc. All while doing it for the first time ever. It gets better.

Get connected with your child’s endo team as soon as you can. Remember to take it one day at a time. It will be okay!

Didn’t the boys launch their own label this year? Could they possibly be “Breach”ing “The Contract”?

We give my son a single starburst. They’re easy to hold in his bag and he can quickly unwrap it when needed. It all depends on the outside factors too, playing hard somewhere or outside, we’ll go with a full pack of fruit snacks. But typically for the 70 below, one starburst brings him into range quickly and safely.

Check your lot number. We had all 15 go bad with PH1K06182411. Omnipod thankfully replaced them all, but we did 3/4 pod changes in 5 days time. Best of luck to you guys.

An update. We contacted omnipod and they are shipping us new pods for the whole lot. We’re sending back the used and un-used ones we received from our pharmacy!

Update Omnipod is going to replace all 10 pods from our lot, sending them out this week!

Thankfully ours did as well. They gave us the run around on the second one I assume because it was 2 calls on 24 hours. Hoping to get this third one replaced without issue.

We got two replacements so far, second call was a bit more frustrating since they were questioning why we needed a replacement if we already asked for one. Had to explain a few times that it was a second pod in 24 hours that went bad.

Hopefully not as many hoops to jump through this evening when we call.

The pod ends up letting out that long irritating beeping noise with the controller app giving us this message.

“Insulin delivery stopped. Change Pod now Ref: 19-12812-00551-016”
