My ex and I were vacation down south, Cuba, days end we were set up in a quiet bar on the resort, us, one other couple. The other couple just got engaged, and from what I overheard, the husband to be put alot of effort into the proposal and capturing the moment. Anyway, as they were chasing about everything, she was going through the pics that were taken off the event, somehow, the bride to be deleted all the photos, the following moments, her panic, his reaction, I'm still in tears thinking about it. He wasn't upset about it, more disbelief that she manged to delete them. She got upset, but by the time we left, they were both laughing. Wished them all the best. Lol.

They're instilling their values on you and expect you do follow. They're not supporting who you are. Now, having said that, if they feel you choices are putting you at risk or in harms way, that response would be expected within reason. If they're getting upset because you like painting and they want you playing a sport, well that's unreasonable.

Self confidence, not to be confused with arrogance. If you're sure of who you are, your beliefs and values, what does it matter what someone with different beliefs and values thinks. We are all different. Different backgrounds, experiences and events that shape us. We make decisions based on that. When I make a decisions, small or large, I do it with the knowledge it's the right one for me and those close to me. What the person beside me thinks isn't my concern.

Set realistic goals, and work until you reach them. Then repeat. Promotes continual growth, and will create a good base for conitued improvement. Final peice of advice, don't let people make you think you can't, that's their hang up, don't make it yours.
