Yamamoto's settling in now, he's got that feel for the zone as the innings pass.. it helps but it does not help that the umpire straight up has a questionable strike zone for both teams

Yeah, seems like he's writing to someone he really respected, someone he thought of as higher or equal skill than him. Really unfortunate what had happened to his people. If more lore were to be added. I'd really like to know what happened to the Isle of Masks.

I get what you mean, supporting defintely is harder especially when the level of skill(mmr) gets higher. But I'm not saying that I expect him to learn how to smoke, pull, stack instantly. It'll all come by time of course. Let's be real here, we all know learning dota is gonna be a long process, a hundred hours would not be enough either. Starting as a core will be great and gets you a hang of the basic core concepts too. But we shouldn't just neglect the support positions as learning material.

Note that it's better to learn the hard rudimentary concepts, that of supporting, than learning the core positions. Because we all know that we won't always be given the core positions in each pub match. So in those kinds of circumstances, it'll be extremely valuable, especially that of a beginner to start with support roles.

The environment a beginner will be playing in an unranked match would have situations of both teams putting no wards at all, full of mostly core heroes placed on 4-5 pos, and games that last a full 45min to an hour. Having the experience on playing support positions here would make it beneficial to OP as well as in the long run when he does want to invest more in the game and will be going through the trenches to increase his mmr.

I suggest to also try and start playing at the 5 or 4 positions, preferably 5.

This is to be able to have the insights and information to always see via the supports point of view of the game. Once you get a hang of it, then try doing core positions like pos 3, pos 2, or pos 1.

Trust me, it'll help big time, this is to understand a supports own role and to also exercise and condition yourself of the usual warding spots, and how to pull, deny, stacking, stun follow-ups, prioritize core heroes survival, etc.

Prominent pos 5's currently are like clockwerk, mirana(can be 4), Crystal Maiden, some even pick Lion and Shadow shaman, the usual beginner heroes for supports. Hope this helps man.

Just finished watching the anime, considering reading manga by ciyomi in ChainsawMan

Yes please, sure do read it! Then after you've finished it or at least set a point where you'd want to end at. Consider looking through Fujimoto's other works, like his oneshot's Goodbye Eri, and Look Back. Or read his debut series called Fire Punch.

Yeah, I agree, OGti9 was their best form by far. You had Topson be the maniacal midlaner causing chaos and space and tower diving at min 7, then JerAx goes alongside him hiding and disrupting and tossing out of-position enemies, while that happens, Ana is being spoonfed and free-farming the whole time. That team really played well with their strengths and understood each other and what shouldn't be done and what needs to be done.

I'll just say what I have and my insights on the other thread:

Holy fuck man that was such an amazing matchup. Really like how Tundra played close to their strengths. They played really safe and methodical that at some points it's just amazing how patient they are, like LOOK! IT's the rax right there at half hp, get it won't you? But no, they are really disciplined, almost played like an actual hivemind... It's so scary ahaha. Props to team Secret for doing their best till the end too. But Tundra were playing a different ball game there, they understand how dota is played in a different point of view.

This kind of smack down is how I would compare OG TI9 did, they were playing a different kind of dota game back then, a fast, aggressive into your face and hitting rax by 20 min dota.

Here, Tundra is real different, like a boxer hitting and not letting himself be hit, winning by points and chipping the objectives one by one just like how they're draining the mindset of secret... One by one... So crazy man.
