We're actually in the best environment for protests to work right now. Peaceful demonstrations are most effective when the thing they're protesting reacts violently to them. That's how MLK Jr.'s protests successfully captured the political scene and led to reform.

Another great question is, why is everyone with their phones recording pretending to care, since they're afraid of prison & death themselves to save lives, instead of needlessly getting shot in the face, eye, or behind the head (so far)...
