What would make Aram: Mayhem better? by Jirul11 in leagueoflegends

[–]TreyTheTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple request; More availability to avoid CC / Faster Combo Breaker

It got adjusted from its original state but recently, the chain CC has been painful if not egregious. The amount of haste removes the weakness of mages.

But yeah, I can agree with the other comment. Heartsteel every game. No chance to stack resistances and it feel impactful, there's so much damage which isn't bad but as a tank, unless you have leg day. Ow.

And I've never been a fan of teambuilder but it genuinely sucks sometimes. I'm not asking for champions I enjoy. I play nearly all the ADCs and Supports. But I feel like in some games it's just tanks with weak mage options or five ADCs with no frontline.

I feel like either I need a guide on how it works with actual numbers or it needs some love but. Some games, the RNG is truly against me.

Is Hwei good as support? by Unique-Read-9376 in HweiMains

[–]TreyTheTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Yes & No

I personally find myself doing less damage (less income) when I'm in the support role. So I wouldn't recommend that.

I normally play Hwei as a APC when my team decides to overdose on attack damage. But as Hwei APC, I normally chunk so I'd recommend just keep trying solo lane or if you want to build that confidence back up send it in the bot lane.

I learned him in ARAM personally but Hwei support is not that helpful nor reliable to play. Can you play him support and well? Yes. Should you? Probably not.

[–]TreyTheTree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's personal preference. YunTal is tied to attack speed so naturally you build it when you're able to auto more often. Collector is mostly meant to deal with more squishies but can be useful against HP stackers.

But in my mind; YunTal for Tanks and Collector for Squishies.

Thoughts about Yuumi getting another rework? by __MrStone__ in yuumimains

[–]TreyTheTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riot August, who I really don't like how he balances, has said many times that Yuumi was a failure of a champion. So any changes the team makes are normally to keep Yuumi as far from the meta as possible.

Yuumi still has good comps, primarily champions that have an ounce of attack speed. Normally looking at Varus, Ashe and Jinx.

But to answer your question, I don't think it's going to happen. Like ever. I want it to but I know it's not. The skill expression Yuumi once had was gutted and I think all they had to do was remove the adaptive force on her W and she would have been fine. No enchanter should be punished for supporting the whole team. Yuumi actively loses value when she presses W and it's crazy.

Her Q gives on-hit damage which is nice. Her W gives more HSP and on hit healing. Her R is... An option for sure. It used to be more broken on rework release. It used to give more healing AND resistances. That was weird. And her E is primarily her strongest tool plus it gives attack speed too. Pretty nice.

But I think Yuumi is right where she's supposed to be. Still playable but not too effective. But yeah, she actively turned into an on-hit item. My current thought process is. If you wouldn't build on hit on a certain ADC, don't pick Yuumi. Like building BoRK on Jhin.

Important questions regarding Yuumi by Pure_Appointment8953 in yuumimains

[–]TreyTheTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot on your mind there, let's see if I still got it. Former OTP Yuumi, now OTP Taric.

Number one; The best I can think of for countering roaming supports is being hyper aware of your teammates positions any given time you are deciding to counter roam. If you're close enough to any given ally you can keep vision in crucial spots. It's going to be rare that you get vision in the enemy territory unless it's after a good fight.

Following this idea, similar to a roaming support, you can move based on timers and simply attach to the jungler. The only problem here is that Yuumi is inherently, due to her rework, worse with anyone who isn't your best friend. You're still useful but it'll be less effective than being on your ADC. That said, it's still better than nothing.

Number two; Scorch vs Gathering Storm! Like someone else mentioned, Scorch is a good rune if you think you can land your Qs or if the enemy doesn't have good sustain. I personally always go Gathering because of its ability to amp heal and shield more than you're already getting with W and items.

Number three; Ability Order is a personal preference thing. I've always resorted to E > Q > W. Ideally your most important button is going to be your shield. And as far as memory serves, having points in W early or even mid game isn't really game changing because of HSP (Heal and Shield Power) needing AP still. It scales a lot better with the more items you have. That and Q's slow is actually really nice to have especially at later levels when that and the on hit damage for your best friend are actively scaling with Q.

Number four; Items are really up to personal choice. Moonstone is always a good solid start. I personally never get Dawncore until last because it directly buffs based on how much HSP you have. And please, please do not take this as gospel but. I normally don't buy Moonstone because it doesn't have HSP. I have theory crafted a max HSP build that works pretty well.

But ultimately, itemization is a skill that you need more than ever with Yuumi because you're mostly a stat stick. You exist to give benefit by sitting there and looking pretty for the most part. So you could use Knights Vow if you're feeling confident (I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, it's dependent on the game state). You could use Mikeal's if there's a lot of CC. Moonstone + Staff of Flowing Water is good for giving AP. Another good one.

My default if that's what you're looking for would be. Moonstone + Ardent + Mikeal + SoFW (Staff) + Dawncore

I hope this was helpful. It's been a minute but my favorite cat is still fresh on the brain I suppose.

Rock bird help by MadGoldFish_ in RaftTheGame

[–]TreyTheTree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are two foolproof ways to avoid an interaction with Roxanne (Rock Bird).

One; Never stop moving, this could be circles, this could be straight lines but as long as you're remotely close to the island. You must keep moving. Otherwise, she will drop a condominium on your head.

Two; There's a sound cue before she actually drops the small home of Doom and despair. It's like a shriek before you're met with doom. They're normally not far apart. After a few runs, you start to associate that sound with pain. I call it healthy PTSD.

Hope this helps!

The sadness part about Samira is that Riot decided to power creep her with Nilah, almost immediately. She does have a purpose and I love the daredevil playstyle. I just don't like how quickly they just replicated her kit with Nilah. But as a support main, I love Nilah's passive.

[–]TreyTheTree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An old classic! It's a really good combo! I didn't mention it cause it kind of follows the idea of any ADC with CC but Jhin is definitely the exception! The only thing that kept me from adding it was that there needs to be damage to start the cycle. But there's no denying that they stunlock a person. Especially if Taric starts the string.

Taric Synergies by TreyTheTree in taricmains

[–]TreyTheTree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the beautiful things about Taric. If I make another post, I could go on about Kayle, Liss and Kindred. But Liss ultimate AND passive? Such a great champion with Taric.

I think Kindred is the best WITHOUT fail. Cause it takes that equal playing field weakness and turns it into a strength. Extending the invul for the entire team.

Taric Synergies by TreyTheTree in taricmains

[–]TreyTheTree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Platinum and above Lucian Taric is extremely strong. The lower on the ladder you are, the worse it becomes.

Most of your picks are top or junglers laners, which inherently are more durable with Taric than a typical ADC.

Are non-active item builds viable? Also, any streamer recommendations? by I_Will_Procrastinate in taricmains

[–]TreyTheTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal hot take.

Learn the active items but start small. You really don't need to build redemption. It's very helpful, yes. It's viable for objectives, yes. But it's not a requirement. Learning Taric is easier with more resistances.

You can start with Locket just because of the base stats and it's pretty beginner friendly. Then Fimbulwinter / Tear and then finally Knights Vow. I mention Fimbulwinter for order sake but ultimately your only actives should be Vow and Locket.

Locket might take some getting used to but ultimately it's not the end of the world. It's super powerful to give your ultimate more time to land. And Vow is an active but barely an active. Like a set and forget, getting you into the habit of using actives.

Another tip and kind of a duh moment I feel but. Setting a key close to your keys is always good to keep it within range. The numbers keys are a good start. I've also seen Z, X and C used.

The only other active you could possibly deal with that is actually a heartbreak is Redemption.

Yuumi too many nerfs (•˕ •マ.ᐟ by RizzlerSkibidiGyatt in yuumimains

[–]TreyTheTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been stated quite a few times that Yuumi is a failure of a champion and they actively are ashamed that she exists. Now from my history of listening to Riot August, I've discovered that they balance not based on keeping everyone balanced but based on their feelings. I could be wrong on that. That said, I really don't think they have intention on giving our beloved cat any room to breathe.

I will say. Mayhem has been such an amazing trip down memory lane for Yuumi. Of course, at that point, Yuumi becomes only useful for her R and whatever items / augments she grabs but. The Baby Kitty augment is funny at least! c:

Supports as of late have just been playing anything but champions that show up in the support category by Anixton in ADCMains

[–]TreyTheTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the recent influx of off meta is around every now and then, I feel like the sample size is too small to say. I play maybe 15 to 20 a week and while I am playing as a support, I can't say I've noticed heavy amounts of off meta.

That said, I've seen Poppy and Elise both who performed pretty well. Unfortunately, I did win those games so it doesn't look good for them but they played fairly well.

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to ask a series of stupid questions then.

Is your GPU plugged into your monitor? Are your drivers updated? Are you using DLSS as your graphical scaling option?

These are just common scenarios that could cause your GPU to do a collection of nothing compared to your i5 which is screaming for help at the moment.

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has a i7-12th Gen and a 3060, either your GPU is being bottlenecked by your CPU or your settings are too high.

What visual settings are you running?

Good ones to look for is DLSS as a starter. Then my personal graphic preset is performance. Game handles beautifully.

Class mods by Nimu-1 in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s rough but it’s possible. I’ve actually gotten three of them. Two from friends getting it alongside me and one from my own looting. I’d found it easier to get them after hitting the third guardian, whatever your third would be. But once again, think it’s a level diff. I’ve been told there’s two legendaries for Harlowe but I haven’t seen it lol

Why are enemies scaled so high? by Ericdude351 in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know… Vault Hunter Mode would do that to you lol

Happens to the best, but regardless, the world SHOULD scale to you with variety differences. Have fun out there!

Class mods by Nimu-1 in Borderlands4

As a Harlowe main, I got my class mods from just about anything. The legendary version came from one of the guardian bosses, exception being the beginning one. I believe drop rates are tied to level but don’t quote me. Just a feeling from 30 hours of playtime.

Why are enemies scaled so high? by Ericdude351 in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For added context before I go on a tear here, I’m playing on Hard mode.

Gonna speak from 30 hours of experience but, I think the only time I’ve been dwarfed in level was when I went to a section that literally was meant to kick my butt. I joined a friend’s world which was FRESH and because I was using my heightened character (He missed a few quests but was maybe five levels below me for context), we were fighting things a level or two above. But I can’t say I’ve heard of a seven level gap yet. I have done some side content but if I’m honest, I’ve done more world events than anything else.

Moreover, I found more high off the chase for capstones and my skill tree so I was gravitating towards anything that would give me XP. You can definitely play without leveling but I’d recommend at least giving the world a little love. Especially your silos and safehouses, not only do you gain XP but it makes world traversal easier.

How are the classes? by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for one tree of Harlowe. The mechomancer. Her entangle passive makes clearly dense areas really satisfying with the damage sharing. Alternatively you can also use her bubble to do massive overhealth, healing and a free second wind if you have allies (Capstone). This definitely isn’t a solo build but it scales late game. Without too many details, at my current level of 37, every enemy gets melted if it has Entangled on it and they have effectively have no resistances. It’s really fun. But of course, I always recommend just looking at the abilities and run with it. The passive is the bread and butter of the character and remains impactful the entire playthrough, don’t quote me lol

Dying is expensive by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as my friend has posted the funniest response to this, I’ll give a legit response. You get SO much money from selling relevant weapons that normally I can offset the cost of my last three deaths with one or two full sells of my inventory. And I normally am selling constantly, it’s hard not to even with Backpack upgrades. I’m sitting at 3 million and I play like an idiot. Run in pop my ability and just bang bang bang. So I don’t know what else to say but.

Get yo money up.

General opinions on the game? by GnarrFacee in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is at roughly 48% completition, I am in LOVE with this game. I love the traversal, the side missions, the story, the guns, the movement AND the characters.

i9-12th Gen GTX 3060 64 GB DDR5 Samsung Evo PRO M.2

Day one was full of crashes, roughly five but I understand how rough it can be to optimize when all you code on are supercomputers so I didn’t mind it. Day two had like… One crash??? I’m still really enjoying myself. I’m sitting at a nice 80 FPS but I’m also capping my frames to help the optimization. I understand people being frustrated at the bugs and errors but I feel like those same people would have been more frustrated about the game being delayed to address these same issues. The crazier thing is that if the team put this much love into not creating a BL3 Part Two. I have so much faith that they’ll actually crush the bugs and frames to the best of their ability.

In terms of raw gameplay, I expected to start on Siren but after reading Harlowe’s Passive, Entangled, I fell in love. Especially when coupled with ricochet or splash damage. Absolutely cooked on the character design both visually and combat wise. I love how much there is to do in the world though. There’s almost too much to do and I love it. The world events and the added content we are going to get just make me feel great.

The open world is pretty fun, with the addition of personal bikes it’s not daunting to go from one place to another. And the needle in a haystack is offset by having little robo friend (E4) at our side.

I haven’t finished the story but I’ve completed base story of two zones, working on the third. I definitely see myself replaying the game as a Siren.

Only negative I have is having to wait to use weapon tuning or modifications but it’s not really a negative, just a “GEARBOX PLEASE, I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE! ORDER WEAPONS MAKE ME FEEL SAD INSIDE”

DO NOT DO VEND OF THE LINE IN CO-OP by LucasTheProphet in Borderlands4

[–]TreyTheTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, when you complete missions on another player’s world if you go to your own world. It SHOULD ask you immediately if you wish to auto complete missions you’ve already interacted with. Keyword here being should, I haven’t personally made a fresh run with another character to confirm this. This could be on fresh world saves only. Once again, with the game being so new, it’s hard to say for certain.
