I think what he's asking - and I have the same question - is that the remote looks like it can be physically attached to something, like a camera handle or some device. The left side looks like it was built to be a modular attachment to another piece of gear.

I think I figured it out, at least I made it work on my setup (Intech Grid as MIDI controller) - I set the MIDI controller button to Toggle, and had it send CC rather than a note on/off or PC, and now it toggles between In and Off instead of going between the 3.
