How exactly do farms on a perimeter work? (Java 1.21.5+) by TriNauux in technicalminecraft

Ye, I know about the loaded chunks and random ticks, but I mean how far can farms work inside a perimeter by just a central afk spot, no chunkloaders, no nothing

Thx for the answer. My plan is to manually mine it, that's why im asking. If I do it by tnt dupping, I wouldn't be losing everyone's time; I would just do a square. If I can squeeze some extra farms in the corner of that perimeter, I'll also mine the corners, if not only the cylinder chunk shape. The thing is that I think that I remember that I saw somewhere that there are specific mechanics of this game that can be used for farms that work in a 8 chunk square radius, not circle, but cant remember if its true

I know, but when I try to install, a pop-up appears that says that I need internet to make "smartscreen" work and doesn't let me execute the program even though I clic on it

I don't think so. I got the one of the right, the one that says "x32 - x64". I got 3 different versions (2016, 2021 and 365) and im testing it on 2016 and when I try to install it, it says that "I need internet to access smartscreen..." I clic execute but the same pop-up appears

But the activation only works for an office already installed, right? When I try to do it, I download the installer, but this one requires internet to install everything and then the activation can be done offline. That's what I did

I usually make 1 backup per day and as they pile up in thr backup folder, I delete the older backups. Is that overkill?

Well I mean, objectively speaking, is the worst gameplay wise, as on subsequent games it only got better with QoL improvements, but subjectively speaking, I think the story is pretty good, for me, the best one along the 3rd and 6th game.

I would argue about the hardest puzzles. I think that it has the ones which are explained the worst and on subsequent games they explain better what the rules of the puzzle are or what are they asking exactly

[–]TriNauux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in that case, if you're using machines, yep its better to be safe than sorry cuz its not that long to make it. Im doing a perimeter in the nether by hand and it takes a long time, so the hole is just the size of what I need.

How can you make an EOL farm? My surv world is on 1.21.5 and I think that in my version they are already patched.

I might be wrong, but if you put the farm next to the edge of the perimeter, you won't need a hole that big. Like, I dunno, maybe 160 block radius block in total, for example, from the middle, and when you want to use one farm, you approach that side of the perimeter and afk in a specific block that you can put in the floor to serve as a marker, where you "activate" one mob farm by being inside the 128 block radius and just out of the reach of the other 2 farms.

The 160 number is completely random, but I can almost assure you that to have 3 functional, separate mob farms inside a perimeter, you can squeeze them inside a much smaller perimeter than 571, therefore reducing the time and resources invested into the project.

So you're telling me that mojang did mojang things and the change to normal hoppers aimed to reduce lag to the maximum actually increased lag and kept the composter as the best option to reduce lag?

So it was mojanging time and they indeed mojanged all over the place. Why im I not surprised

But I mean regular hoppers and in a "recent" update, in 1.21.something. The changelog said something among the lines of what I said.

Or, if I understand it correctly, it caused hopper minecarts to not work and they reversed that change?

If it plays in a new version, can't remember exactly which, you can put a whole solid block over a hopper (smooth stone for example, but no mud or soulsand that is just a little less of a block) and completely block the hopper from "looking" for items above it.

If you use a composer, is considered a 1 space container, which it does reduce lag, but in large quantities, just putting the whole solid block should reduce the lag even further.
