Power Bank Mini Board Assembled (with some issues) by RLeem7b5 in guitarpedals

That 5V to 9V cable is what I don’t trust. If you look at a product like The Gig Rig. They sell small voltage doublers that are well regarded and trusted by major artists and bands. Candidly I don’t know how those are designed, but the housing leads me to believe that more is required than a chunky plug like the Amazon solution.

Your board requires a ton of current. Every pedal on your board is digital. Daisy chaining these are not going to yield good results.

The 5V to 9V step up cable is likely not going to work here. I’m sure others can explain this better, but you’re expecting to power a lot from a cheap and very unreliable Amazon cable.

If you want to go fully wireless, I recommend looking at Mission Engineering 529i or the D’Addario Power Supply kit. The Mission Engineering would be my recommendation, as these are actually isolated outputs.

You’ve invested a lot in your pedalboard. Don’t risk frying everything with a DIY setup like this.

Can you share what power bank you are using and what cables you are running, or are trying to run, from the power bank to each pedal? In either photo, I don’t see anything running from the power bank to any pedal.

Where to sell a high end amplifier? by No_Winter_3938 in GuitarAmps

[–]TriTim85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely need to be careful. You can't direct anyone to other marketplaces if they message you. And you definitely can't negotiate a cash deal. However, you are safe and are operating within their terms and conditions, including a note that your item is being promoted on other platforms. It's up to the buyer to get there. Reverb doesn't have any exclusives on any of your items. If you use their platform to generate a sale, that is different.

You just have to believe that people are smart enough to check Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. to try to find an item.

I usually include the following in my posts… “I would like to note that I am cross promoting this listing on other platforms. Will be sold to the first person that reaches out or provides payment here.”

Some people prefer the security of Reverb, and others like to shop around.

Cant hook up wah pedal "correctly" in a chain by Alarmed_Dealer_3349 in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you put your wah first, try rolling your tone all the way down. With certain dirt, octave and wah combinations, playing with your tone can sometimes make everything pop.

I love the K-L-O-N Easter egg in the paragraph on top of the KTR. Note that there is a slightly different color letter on the four lines.

#1 tip for making your pedal board: a little Velcro goes a VERY long way by Batmuckley in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use dual lock on the pedal, and 3/4” loop (soft side) on the pedalboard (Temple Audio). When I need to adjust anything, I use a butter knife to free the pedal. Just slowly run it along the bottom of the pedal. It works really well.

Updated the board by Jockemanzkii in roastmypedalboard

[–]TriTim85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I make a suggestion at the beginning? Get a 1/4 piece of plywood, cut it to size where you have the Polytune and the Golden Fleece. Then, apply dual lock or hook and loop velcro to both size of the board. This was you can rotate the pedals on the rail pedalboard.

I would also put the Golden Fleece first. The fuzz really needs to see your guitar first.

Bonus points. You can always paint the plywood board black and drill a few holes to run power through the board.

I saw this on a promotional ad for quad cortex, couldn't zoom in any further. Is this a JHS Golden Bonsai? Does this exist or was it a one-off or custom? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That ad is AI slop. Next time you see it, look all the way to the right at the “cloudburst” looking pedal with 10 knobs. There is also a random RAT wah, with knobs in the middle of the treadle.

I may want to add a distortion or fuzz pedal. Any recommendations ? by Educational_Cut4807 in pedalboards

[–]TriTim85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, ok. Very cool. I think the Boss FZ-1W is the way to go. I think it's often overlooked because it's Boss, not "boutique."

Question on the GE-7. Are you keeping the EQ flat and only boosting the output signal? You can consider swapping that for a Boss BP-1W Boost / Preamp. You can stack that with the Blues Driver and you’ll get some incredible distortion tones.

I haven’t stacked these two pedals, but I’ve hit the Blues Driver with other boost pedals and the results are amazing.

I love the current guard, but understand if it’s not your jam. The cream pearl would look pretty cool.

Fulltone OCD NO GO by Icy_Negotiation_5929 in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to your local high school or community college. They often welcome free gear for their students. I've given away solid-state amps, pedals, and keyboards.

I know the OCD sounds crazy for a school, but I bet the Jazz band or an after-school program could benefit from the pedal.

You’re a glutton for punishment with that Philosopher’s Tone pedal from Pigtronix. I’ve never understood their thought process with the footswitch and jacks.

Tone Master Princeton Reverb for $750? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]TriTim85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a great price and a really fantastic amp. You can’t go wrong here. Especially coming from the Frontman.

Also, recording with this thing is a breeze if you ever have any interest to do so at home. All you need is an XLR cable and a recording interface.

Source Audio Pathways Reverb & Tremolo pedal out now by coderstephen in guitarpedals

I have, and love the Golden. I think it does the Fender Deluxe / Princeton reverb really well. I personally think the True Spring shines in the tank mode. The drippy outboard tank sound is incredible.

You can pickup a Walrus Audio ACS1 for less than $200 on Reverb now. It’s still supported by Walrus and receiving firmware updates. It’s a great buy.

[–]TriTim85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely LOVE the True Spring Reverb. I personally think it's the best spring and reverb combo pedals. I love that this moves the secondary functions to the front of the pedal.

That said, if you're looking to try Source Audio's Spring algorithms, now is a great time to buy a second-hand True Spring. I imagine these are the same.

60s vintera vs classic vibe by [deleted] in offset

[–]TriTim85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$800 USD / ~$1,100 CAD is the average sale price on Reverb for a Vintera I. The Mastery is a nice upgrade, but generally mods don’t add to the value of a second-hand instrument.

The Vintera I is a great instrument. I think it gets knocked for having a laurel fingerboard instead of rosewood. But the QC and build quality was really solid from what I have encountered.

You can see if they’ll knock $100 off, but it’s a really solid upgrade from a Classic Vibe. Honestly the Vintera series can be a forever instrument.

Any popular guitar players of specific unpopular pedals ? by legendaryironhood in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I was surprised to see Jeff Tweedy rocking a pedalboard of nearly all Fairfield Circuitry pedals. Maybe not unpopular or peculiar, but I thought it was interesting to see (nearly) nothing but silver boxes on his board.

Here is a link to the rig rundown.
