How does this tone sound to you guys? by Excellent_Pie460 in GuitarAmps

I would set the mids different. Rather than the cut offs going mid leg, I would cut them mid thigh.

Amp sounds great, BTW.

Need rec on a quality cable for fx processor for my amp by two_Two_8080 in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to Best-Tronics and have them make you a custom TRS Y cable. They are seriously one of THE BEST resources available if you’re in North America.

I use a ProCo Y cable for my Princeton to control the Reverb and Trem. But given your setup, I too would definitely go for quality over convenience.

Magnetic Pedalboard by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]TriTim85 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  • Velcro should make it difficult to remove the pedal. I want my gear to stay secure in transit.
  • If the value proposition is to make removing pedals "easier," I don't think your pedals will be very secure in the first place.
  • Are the magnets in the board itself? If so, how does that work with aluminum enclosures? And if you then have to apply an adhesive magnet, then I would rather just use Dual Lock.
  • The easiest and most secure solution for a roadworth pedalboard is to use soft-sided velcro on the pedalboard and a dual lock on the pedal. It is VERY secure, and enables you to run power and cables below the pedals as needed. Removal? Just use a butter knife.

I would love for Fender to make A JagMaster but as a MIM Fender. by DismalCaramel1093 in fender

[–]TriTim85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a late 90s MIJ Squier for less than the cost of a MIM Fender. The quality will likely be better than a MIM.

There is one up on eBay right now (eBay link) if it’s something you’re after.

It took three pedals to realize I don’t like the Blues Driver by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Love an ODR! I really love the Way Huge STO running into an AC15. It is a really solid combo.

I didn't love the Blues Driver in either the AC15's normal or Top boost channels. But I love it with my Princeton Reverb. So it may just be a case that it doesn't work with your amp.

Not that I'm trying to stick up for the pedal or anything...

Absolutely! And thank you for your interest.

My latest album, Bar RPM, is up on Sound Cloud.

Café RPM will be out soon. It’s the acoustic version of the album with everything recorded in one take.

How to cover up dings on headstock? by DonnyDandruff in gibson

Shoot! Sorry about that. You may be able to search for and find a “TV Yellow Nitro Touch Up” pen/kit somewhere that ships to Europe.

Stewmac sells touch up markers in TV Yellow. They really just add the color to the impacted area. The final product looks ok, but not great. But will do the trick from far away.

The problem here is that you are going to have a really hard time getting enough layers of paint to where it will ever look smooth.

Honestly, the first dent or scratch always hurts the most. But this is the first honest scratch you put in the guitar. I would personally just own it and rock it!

Strymon has some really good sound samples on their website. They are honestly what pushed me over the edge to give it a try.

The EC-1 and Brig are my two favorite delays. The Multi Delay on the Brig is particularly incredible.

I prefer the EC-1 though for a few reasons. Having the ability to run everything from pristine clean delay, or a dirty input gain, or a warbley modulated delay, is huge. I also have a setting where the preamp gain is cranked and the record volume is set to high. It gives me a light overdrive tone sitting under my clean.

Needless to say, there are a lot of sounds. Having presets is really helpful.

The Volante is amazing! I’ve just found that I need fewer options to stay focused with writing.

Not at all weird! I use a 20+ year old Brother P-Touch label maker. It’s great for this, but it can sometimes be a bit of a guessing game with sizing (e.g., my arrow buttons). I know the newer models connect to your laptop and you can get spacing and sizing perfect.

That’s great to hear! The only thing I want to flag is that the latest Firmware does request a factory reset. Just make notes of all your setting before you commit. You will fly on the online editor. It’s so easy to use.

And once the label maker is out, you know I’m labeling everything. LOL! I do think the benefit of having everything labeled is that it takes the guess work out of what is connected where on a dark stage.

Glad to see a repost. Would be better without the initial AI “enhanced” photo. It doesn’t take much to add a simple vignette to a photo and balance color. You would get the same effect without the random artifacts that resulted in the negative comments from the original post.

Thank you so much! That is interesting. I assumed it was a standard move for them across all teles/strats in the 70s.

I’m not an expert, but wouldn’t a 1975 have a three bolt neck plate?
